This is a sandblasted butterfly trinket, keepsake or jewelry box. A black/pewter patina border surround these clear textured colored glasses which surround the butterfly that I have sandblasted into the glass in the center of this lid. The butterfly is etched into an opaque blue/white swirled glass. It is then surrounded by various colored clear textured glasses. The sides and bottom of this box have same variety of colored clear and opaque glasses all around. The side of each box is made up of two various colored glasses cut at an angle, which you can see in the photos. I've made many of these boxes in various colors, shapes and sizes and are practical enough to store anything, even your craft items. I've added the same black/pewter colored lid chain (as shown) in order to keep the lid upright. Clear rubber feet are also attached to ensure no harm comes to this piece or your furniture. Size is 5 x 5 x 2 inches. I use the Tiffany copper foil method of stained glass, and then brightly polish the solder. Each piece of glass is cut by me. I sandblasted the glass in order to create the design in the center of this box. It's an extra step to take; however, I like to "combine" mediums together to see what happens. I think incorporating sandblasted glass into my stained glass creations gives the pieces a little more depth and most importantly look totally groovy!
