Just right for our mister

I recently installed a misting system in my greenhouse and included one of these drain valves. I placed it at the lowest elevation on the mist nozzle manifold. It works flawlessly. When I turn off my booster pump the entire header drains thru this fitment. It also discharges a very small stream while the system is in operation. I slid a piece of clear vinyl tubing over the discharge end of the valve and ran the tubing down the wall and into a high, water-demand potted plant. My greenhouse floor remains dry and I no longer need to water this shrub.The price of this drain valve is very reasonable and will esily pay for itself in short order. It will extend the life of my spray nozzles by slowing the accumulation of mineral deposits (calcium) in the nozzles. I am very satisfied and pleased with this purchase!

Worked perfectly right out the box. I have no idea who folks are saying it doesn’t work. Hooked it into mister system connector and boom worked perfectly. Drains when shut off.

Completely useless. Received one that's roughly half the length. Got this to automatically drain mister when turning off water supply, designed to keep mister nozzles from plugging up. Previous much older one that's longer worked perfectly. You'll see this same negative review repeated over and over again. Very deceptive that the photo shows longer version instead of the short aversion that you get.

5-stars for part fixing my problem (old drain valve wouldn't close/seal to allow full pressure to get to misting heads). 1-star for product redesign that shortened it to a 1/3 the original (pictured) size by using a tiny spring that fails sooner. Once that spring weakens, the check ball never sets (seals) under full water pressure. Guess it worked too well and lasted too long to leave it alone.

Worked as an inexpensive plug for 1K PSI mister line!Installed the SS Orbit high pressure mister setup.Fairly high tech with dual back ups and O-ring at each interface. Aerospace style. I ordered these because when Istarted the pump up after a day or two of sitting there would be an unpleasant odor... I thought due to water entrapment in the lines. After installing they did not mist but they would drain when pressure was relieved!In addition I needed to close a few too many misters. So they worked for both purposes I needed.

Not as pictured. When first installed, it did not work, I gave it a one star. However, I figured it out, turn it loose a little and the water drains. Wouldn't have given it a bad rating had it came with some instructions.

I don't know exactly how to rate this item, because it has now been discontinued and replaced by a "Universal" drain attachment which Orbit sent when I ordered this item from amazon. The Universal replacement attachment works great! It is shorter and looks different, but does the job, and no little rubber ball to lose, such as is described in the reviews for the longer, original Arizona Mist 10115H. So, if you order this and receive something different from Orbit, you're still okay. It will work on your Orbit Arizona Mist system.
