A Poke Ball (Monster Ball) is a type of item that is critical to a quest, used for catching and storing Poke Go Mon. Both a general term used to describe the various kinds as well as a specific term to refer to the most basic among these variations, Poke Balls are ubiquitous in the modern Poke Go Mon world. Up to six Poke Go Mon can be carried with a Trainer in Poke Balls, while any number of other Poke Balls can be held in the Bag for later use. These six Poke Go Monin the Poke Balls can be attached to the users belt for carrying them around. Some Poke Go Mon do not like to be carried around in Poke Balls, such as Ashs Pika. The strength of a Poke Balls is determined by how much it raises a Poke Go Mon catch rate, and may in fact vary depending on the conditions of the battle. Poke Balls limit the power of Poke Go Mon contained inside, taming them, though they do not cause the Poke inside to always obey the Trainer. Stylized Poke Balls are used in many places to symbolize Poke Go Mon in general: the logos of all three Battle Frontiers feature a Poke Ball in their design, while several Poke Balls can be seen in every Poke Go Mon Center. The headgear of the protagonists of Kanto, Hoenn, Sinnoh, and Unova-based games feature Poke Balls designs, as do the Bags of the protagonists of Johto-based games. Ethans headgear is also similar to the top half of an Ultra Ball, and Lucas Bag prominently features a Poke Balls.
