Q: can I use pressure regulators after the timer or must the pressure be reduced first?

Thank you for contacting Melnor. The timer has a minimum requirement of 20 psi and maximum of 80 psi to operate the valves properly. You can put the pressure reducer on before or after as long as those parameters are still met.

Q: My tap has 50 psi and delivers 15gph, I want to run 5 sprinkler heads/zone at about 7.5 gph/zone. Will this system work for this set up?

Are you asking whether you can run 5 x 7.5 gph x 4 zones at the same time? If so, no. That is 150 gph. But, per zone at 5 x 7.5 gph. Yes. That is 37.5 gph.

Q: When it eventualy fails...will it fail in the closed position. so it doesnt allow the water to just run and run.

It failed in closed position for me when the battery got to low for normal operation. Also it was running at the time, battery was low, so it shut the valve down and just displayed the low battery error.

Q: does the 4 zone timer be programmed to be on day of the week, for example, zone 1 on monday, 2 for tuesday etc?
