Superb value, excellent quality - great long-term buy for this adult's acne
In considering whether to buy this much BP 5% in one go, I was concerned about whether the quality of its formulation would match the excellent value for money seemingly on offer. Formulation is vitally important, it isn't just about whether the gel/lotion has 5% BP. (I'm guessing many of us looking at this listing are familiar with how long it took Dan Kern to perfect his 2% treatment - but 2% just doesn't cut it for some of us.) Badly formulated BP can greatly exacerbate things. So, I was very happy to open one of these--large!--tubes and apply this light, quickly absorbed gel that also smelled just right, i.e. no added perfume of any sort, seemingly, just a clean, pharmaceutical sort of pleasant smell. I typically use a well formulated (but somewhat costly) prescription 5% BP, so, I admit, my skin is used to that strength - nevertheless, no new irritation or peeling was caused by this high-value generic, which is probably decent testament to the quality of its formulation. Also, most importantly, no new breakouts since the switch (and, yes, it's been several weeks since the switch). It bears noting, though: If you're coming to 5% from 2%, there's a good chance there's going to be some irritation and possibly a lot of peeling, regardless of whether your complexion is on the oily side of the spectrum, and regardless of the quality of the gel's formulation (yeah, I know from experience).. Don't use too much too frequently at first. Take it slow and try to give it a chance. Also, I'm not a doctor, so I base this on only my own experience - ymmv.Bottom line: This is an excellent buy.P.S. To anyone young out there reading this, hopefully before you've got much scarring, the long-term-but-forever solution to beating regular-to-mildly-severe acne: Regular, religious BP, either 2% or 5% (credit for this goes to Kern), plus keeping one's scalp healthy and clean, i.e. no dandruff especially, perhaps by using a ketoconazole shampoo regularly, plus all the other health-promoting basics like sleep, water, exercise, etc. Yes, I wish I had known (way, way) back then...

The Zit Wit! Great in combination with 2.5% and far more effective than salicylic acid
If treating acne, dermatologists often recommend 2% salicylic acid yet that wasn’t effective for our son after several months. Enter 2.5% benzoyl peroxide, a treatment that has been around for decades. This has been working quickly when several months of 2% salicylic acid did not. He's very pleased the stubborn zits are going away at last. For spot treatments for stubborn areas I recommend also having this Rubgy 5% benzoyl peroxide as part of your arsenal. You can find over the counter products at up to 10% but as the percentage rises, so does the potential for irritation. Thus, what’s working wonderfully for us is 2.5% for everyday and 5% as needed for specific problem zits. For our teen, no irritation, even at the increased 5%.

Love this product
I love this product however you must be careful in the way that you use it because I tried, including this into my skincare but this led me to have dry skin patches all over my face. It also started to burn on my face every time I would use it so I stopped using it for a week. I also had a bit of discoloration on my chin, but it went away. I started using it again, but in a different way and it hasn't burned like it did, I might've combined a product that gets along with this, but overall it has cleared my acne and acne scars.

Good old-fashioned benzoyl peroxide
It gets the job done, period. Sometimes after long periods of time of not breaking out, I think that maybe my skin is not acne-prone anymore...But then I miss one day (Literally ONE day) without this and I get at least one pimple so then it's only confirmed again and again that this acne medication keeps my skin looking smooth and healthy. 5 Stars!

Arrived damaged
One of the containers arrived damaged. The bottom split open. I've never seen this happen before. Can't speak on effectiveness of this acne treatment as yet. I may update in a few weeks.

I have clear skin for the first time in 12 years. THIS STUFF WORKS.
I have had acne for over 12 years. It is cystic, and I have been told my doctors that it is hormonal and the best treatment is to go on birth control- which I tried and it made me sick as a dog. I have tried lots of topical products over the years and nothing works. 5 years ago I was on antibiotics for 2 weeks and it cleared my acne for a few months but that is NOT a long term solution. My acne has gotten worse and worse to the point that if I woke up without a new large, painful cyst on my face, I would be relieved. At 25 years old, my acne was the worst it's ever been; even worse than when I was a teenager with raging hormones. A month ago I was on vacation and my acne was so bad all I could do was cry and I decided this year I was going to see a dermatologist and do whatever it took to get rid of it- even if it meant being on the pill and feeling sick to my stomach 24/7 and going on Accutane and antibiotics. A few days later I was doing schoolwork for my graduate program and we were learning about acne. The textbook said the two classic treatments are benzoyl peroxide and retinoic acid. It was very simple, I'd heard it a hundred times. I thought about it, and realized I hadn't tried either of these products for a few years, and I probably wasn't very consistent back when I did try these products. I found this product on Amazon- only $7 for two bottles. I read great reviews, and I am lucky I came across a review that advised to use the product for at least a month before deeming it a success or failure. I also read to start off with weekly or biweekly applications because it will dry the skin out. Here's the verdict:-THIS STUFF WORKS. I HAVE CLEAR SKIN FOR THE FIRST TIME IN 12 YEARS. I got 1 small zit when I started my period last week. That's it.-MAKE SURE TO USE THE PRODUCT FOR AT LEAST 1 MONTH TO SEE RESULTS. It actually started working in a week for me, so that was a nice surprise.-START WITH BI-WEEKLY APPLICATIONS AND APPLY A GOOD LOTION OR CREAM AFTER WASHING IT OFF TO PREVENT YOUR FACE FROM FLAKING OFF. AFTER YOUR SKIN ADJUSTS, YOU CAN START APPLYING IT A LITTLE MORE FREQUENTLY if needed.I feel like I have my life back. I used to get so depressed when my acne would flare up. I'd be happy and hopeful if I only had 3 or 4 cysts on my face, then a week later I'd have a dozen painful cysts that I couldn't ignore because they hurt so bad, and I'd pick at them and it was a vicious cycle. It's so important to feel good in your own skin and I hope others have the same success I have had.
