Simple, easy to use, solid slicer
This is a relatively small, simple and robust device with a very sharp, undulating edged circular Solingen steel blade. It cuts crusty home made bread, including sourdough, very well. It also sticks like a limpet to my polished granite work surfaces. I do have a couple of reservations, though.I expected the wooden handle to rotate freely on its spindle, but it sticks and there's no adjustable screw to loosen it. The handle also crushes the slice as it comes off the blade, unless one is careful. To address this I've adopted a simple modification with a 6" steel ruler and some magnets - see the attached photos. It's not elegant, but it's cheap and it does the job.

Excellent
This is a fantastic piece of kit! Really love using this to slice homemade sourdough bread! It does cut day old bread better than fresh I think, but use it to cut fresh anyway! Wish I bought it sooner! Really easy to clean and easy to use

It actually works!
I'm astonished to discover that this slicer actually slices a sourdough loaf effectively and quickly. I've tried electric slices, electric carving knives, combinations of knife and slicing guide, mostly with lack of success. I have deducted one star simply because I don't have a surface in my kitchen to which the suction feet attach adequately.UPDATE: I have found a way to stabilise the slicer. A sheet of heavy perspex with non-slip fabric underneath provides a good surface for the suction feet and does not move a millimetre when in use.The thickness guide moves as it is not tight enough and also is a little off "true" so slices are slightly angled. I will attempt to tighten the thickness guide so it does not shift by several mm by the end of a loaf but thus far I have not found a solution.

Slices through like butter
So glad I bought this, I have been baking my own bread for a while now, this is the best bread cutter I have come across, the price did put me off at first, but it slices it so easily & hopefully will last a lifetime.

Perfectly sliced sourdough
The media could not be loaded. If you have ever made or bought sourdough or crusty bread you will all have had the struggle trying to saw through the crusty bottom. I had been looking at this slicer for months and trying to justify the cost but after having a debate with myself about self worth and why not I pressed that order button. It has been an absolute revelation, I can honestly say it has been one of the best kitchen items I have ever bought. It slices easily and cleanly through the crustiest of breads, no ragged edges or pulled crumb.A couple of tips I have learnt, wipe the suckers with a damp cloth before you stick it to your work surface, really helps with stopping it sliding or moving when slicing and turn the handle quite quickly when slicing, helps with stopping the slice of bread getting stuck under the handle. This also slices cooked hams, perfect for sandwiches etc.If you have been looking at this and thinking it’s quite expensive believe me it’s worth every single penny!

Only surface it sticks to is the glass hob
It slices very well, but it moves around so much that it is essentially unusable. The only surface it sticks to is the glass hob. For an expensive item, the suction cups are pathetic. And I cut myself - the slicing wheel is unguarded. Going back, sadly.

Slices with ease.
Pricey, but a quality product in every way.

Effective, fun and beautiful
More than £130 to slice a loaf of bread, ridiculous right? Well actually, no. If you like crusty bread or sourdough we all know how difficult it can be to cut through the crust, particularly at the bottom of the loaf. Also failing to be able to cut a slice perpendicular and evenly can be the source of so much domestic tension (at least in our house)! This product is simple, effective and fun to use. A loaf of bread can be cut into perfect slices in seconds at you desired thickness. It also looks good on the counter.
