Pricey but worth it.
I needed a drill guide for 1/16" and this is the only one I could find. This is perfect for making perpendicular holes with tiny bits. Seems to be holding up so far and its not wallowing out. I was a bit surprised when I got it, from the pictures I was imagining that it would be bigger but it is super tiny which is a good thing as you can get it into tighter spaces. There are centering score marks on every hole so it makes aligning it up to your exact location much easier. Impressed, good quality all metal not some plastic junk.

Good For Pilot Holes
I do a lot of custom installs (picture frames, mirrors, cabinets, shelves, hooks, hangers, tvs, etc,) and find this invaluable tool to drill pilot holes. Sure, you can do it freehand but sometimes the mount is at the edge of the stud and if you don't get it straight, it won't be secured. You also need a good stud finder and I have stud buddy, electronic one, and a top of the line yellow Franklin. I also have the other Gator that goes up to 1/2" hole.

Small, Clever and Very Well Built!
This tool is surprisingly small, but extremely well built. I had searched around and looked up the specs and was still surprised by it's size. I thought I should post a picture to show it. It's effectively a drill press you can fit in your pocket! This thing is SOLID! I can see this easily outlasting me.Other's have mentioned that it tends to move around if you don't clamp it down, and I can see where clamping it will certainly make it more stable. I've followed another reviewers' suggestion and used a center punch where I want the hole and then pushed the drill bit all the way through and centered it in advance before bringing the guide down into contact with the work surface. Then I can hold it steady enough with my hand, at least while working with wood. Here are the dimensions from the manufacture's website since this Amazon page is a bit sparse:LENGTH 3 5/8"WIDTH 5/8"HEIGHT 1/2"WEIGHT Less than 1 LB(I measure it to be 3.75oz / 107g)I wish they offered a combo pack with this one and the standard size one that goes from 1/8" to 3/8" - I would have bought both.

Unbelievably handy.
Should be in every auto mechanic's tool box. Unbelievably handy. If I can get permission from wifey, I would like to give some out to a couple of my buddies, both sizes. You can even catch a goof up with this devise. Say you spend 30 minutes lining up and center punching a spot on a pipe. Then you place this over the spot and let the drill bit center itself in the dent. You may find the spot is not 90 degree straight up or 90 degree straight out to the side. You can place a Transfer Punch that fits the same way as a drill bit in one of these guide holes. You can then put a level (or your smart phones angle finder) against the transfer punch to make sure you are drilling and or threading a hole exactly where you want it. I don't see any way it can get anything less then 5 stars.

Perfect Alignment Tool
Worked exactly as advertised to provide a accurate 90 degree angle when using small specialty drills.

Works where drill presses cannot reach
I found this to be a practical alternative to a drill press when working on an awkward-shaped wooden part or drilling with a right-angle attachment in a confined space. For perfectly-placed, right angle holes you can:(1) Dimple your hole, (2) slip this guide onto the bit in your hand-held drill, (3) push the tip of the drill bit into the dimple, (4) slide this guide down to the wood, and finally (5) clamp this guide in place. It works every single time. For depth-controlled holes without damaging your surface you can:(1) Add 0.500" to the depth of your locking collar, (2) drill through this guide, so the collar spins against this guide instead of your wood. The holes have just enough wiggle to not bind twist drill bits. The groove along the bottom lets wood debris clear the drill bit while this guide is still clamped in place.
