This will protect your rods when you are driving from one stream to another.

I bought this fly rod case that was supposed to be like new but opened. The box was not damaged but the case was. It would not shut properly, the closure did not line up so it would not close and therefore worthless.

This is the best travel rack for fly rods. Fairly simple to install and very secure during travel. 100% recommend this rack to any serious fly fisherman.

Instructions weren't completely clear on installation. Broke a rod tip with the lid slamming down.

Honest review here.So ... my husband recently was carrying a fly rod in his car and had the tip out the window and forgot and rolled the window up...he broke the rod tip off instantly (ugg... sadly)! Have to send in for a warranty repair at Sage... So it was time to invest in the best rod carrier for our Volvo SUV... Hence the the Thule roof rack rod carrier.We found that this rod rack easily attached to our roof rack... literally 15 minutes or less for install. WE have been fly fishing for years and this rod carrier roof rack is amazing and well made to protect our reels and rods.This rod carrier holds 2 fully assembled fly fishing rods up to 10 feet with reels attached (reels 4.25 inches and includes the fighting butt). These carriers are also anodized aluminum rod tubs and offer maximum reel protection.WE carry 2 Sage rods and reels comfortably and feel so much better they are safely secured and not at risk in the car. Plus you can keep your reels rigged, pull up to the boat or beach and you are ready to roll (opposed to having to gear up when you get there). It's so nice to keep them safe and geared up... and not having to break them down either for transport is makes life so much easier!!!The fishing rod rack locks to keep your rods safe and secure. You can also lock the fishing rod rack to the vehicle but that requires an additional padlock you must purchase or a rig to lock it.It makes it so much easier to transport and not worry about breaking down your rods and reels for transport.Thule makes great sleek design too so it is not bulky and looks so chic in design.As flyrod fisher-peeps...we love to rock this roof rack and might have to upgrade to the 4 rod carrier! TIGHT LINES!

During Covid times, we are doing more and more hiking and fishing with my husband.I so trust Thule that I would highly recommend Thule for anything even without checking their product, but in this case, we have been using the carrier these past few weeks. It's amazing!It is a hard case and safe way to move around your (two) fully rigged rods. no disassembly required, you can put the full assembled rods in it. This model can hold 2 fully assembled fly rods (up to 10' long), but I have seen one with 4 rod capacity that's a bit more expensive but if you have more rods, that model is available too.Assembly is pretty easy. It has a universal mounting system that fits lots of cars, it easily fit both of our cars a Cayenne and a Mazda 5. Remember you need bars on your car. Assembly and mounting took us only 20minutes and was pretty straight forward. All parts needed to install was included in the package. After installation, it is pretty fixed and you don't hear any rattle or annoying vibration in the car, the mechanism is very good. All bolts and washers are also stainless steel so don't worry about keeping it on and off your car, once you install it there, it can stay there for a long time. no need to take it off the car every time you come back from fishing.As mentioned earlier, this is a hard case with high gauge aluminum metal that makes it a bit heavy and heavy duty, and the tubes inside are lined so it gives excellent protection to your rods.When you're far from your car, it's pretty safe since it has a lock so if you only take one rod out going fishing, the other one is safe in there if locked.The only thing that I think can be an improvement is to convert the latch part to aluminum too, the plastic seems high quality but it can always break and weather and sun can damage it on the long run.

The likes, great concept. It does secure 2 fly rods. If...it stays together. The plastic parts broke and disappeared on my first trip down a country road.It held together by the front mount bracket when I noticed the rear brackets gone.At least .041 safety wire, zip ties and 550 cord came to the rescue, and got me home.Will be replacing all plastic hardware with galvanized conduit clamps and stainless bolts and nyloc nuts.This was mounted on Yackima bars.For the price of these things you'd think they would come up with something reliable.Just my 4 cents.... Rant over..

Paid for NEW but received an open item that had missing bolts, lock, key and many other items gone. I expected quality when paying $670.00 for a Thule product but I was hesitant to buy as it was the "Last item in stock" but still took the bait and now I'm stuck with return shipping costs, FUN!!!

Pour le transport de cannes à mouche, mon moulinet le plus gros est de 2cm plus petit que le diamètre maximum alloué tel qu'indiqué par Thule, mais était quand même très serré et difficulté de fermer le couvercle.
