Good for small applications
Update: it has not changed mode on a timer for a while now! Don't know what changed but now it is doing what I need it to do. Not strong enough for an aquarium in my opinion unless you do low light plants.This is a good light for small terrariums or aquarium bowls. The problem is that the 3-color one changes color when the timer turns off and on.

Good for rimless tanks for a few weeks
Firstly, it doesn't fit over most of the black plastic rim/frames on most aquariums, secondly because of that I bought it and used it for about a month before it went into storage. Just started using it again and it worked for a week before the brightness plummeted to that of a dying flashlight. The construction is nice, so I'm not sure what happened but it's disappointing.

Using for small aquarium
We use this for a 3 gallon aquarium. It works great. Only thing we would change is the way the timer works. It's max setting is 4hrs. The different light settings are nice, it gets brighter than expected.

Made well and worth the money
The light is nice and bright and easy to use. I accidentally knocked it into my fish tank and it still works even after being under water

Short term
Nice light for about three months. Now it doesn't work, I understand I paid twenty bucks but I expected it to last more than a few months.

Dim light
Bought this for a 7 gallon shrimp aquarium. Its easy to attach to the tank and looks good, but the light was too dim for my tank. It didn't light up enough of my tank, creating a lot of dark shadows. I did like the look of it but wouldn't buy again unless it was brighter.
