I wore a 10/12 before pregnancy. After pregnancy I'm more of a 12/14. I ordered a medium. I shrunk a little after washing, so it does fit a little snug. But I'm hoping that once I get down to pre-baby size it will give a little more room. I'm also only 5'5" and it said if you are short to order smaller than what you would normally go with. I usually go for a large in everything, but decided to go down. It is still functional as is. I'm happy with the size I ordered.

Not sure... I've never tried it in water. The material is 100% cotton so I imagine it would change when wet. They also have a Baby K'tan Breeze which is made of mesh and is not 100% cotton, it's a blend. Maybe that would suit your needs better? I imagine the regular K'tan would get quite heavy when wet because it's soft but quite thick as it's meant to hold and support baby. Hope this helps! :)

It's worth it. Though, you might want to look into a bit so stretchy carrier as baby gets bigger.

It is comfortable for newborns. It's easy for baby to curl up in the frog leg position during the early months, but then as they grow you can transition them to the W position. There are videos on YouTube that I found helpful when learning how to get my newborn in and out. I really liked using this carrier.
