Is this a hard plastic? Not a dentable one....

No they are not a hard plastic!! But they mostly retain their integrity.

How big are they, what household item could you compare size to?

1 1/4” wide at the top and 1 3/8” high. 7/8” across at the bottom. Perfect size for sacrament which is what we used them for. Good quality. We washed them and reused them too. I don’t know what household item to relate the size to. Hope this helps
