Sturdy with a nice grip, and no plastic needed anymore!
Updated 6/10/20 for clarity and better info. I purchased a single tumbler with the bamboo lid. This is exactly what I was looking for. I'm packing my own water into the office now in larger silicone-wrapped glass water bottles. I poor water from those into this tumbler. As a tumbler it's easier to drink from than the larger bottles. I can put it in my bag without worrying about it cracking due to the protective silicone wrapping. And it's easier to wash than the water bottles. This reduces my overall time expended on washing, since I end up washing the large cumbersome water bottles less often. Rather, I wash this tumbler with the rest of my dishes at the end of the day.I do not use it as an on-the-go beverage container as I have a different product I prefer for that purpose. It could work well for that though.Regarding the liquids: I use this exclusively for water, so I don't have experience trying to clean out other stuff, like smoothies, soda, etc. I find it easy to clean because I don't have to scrub it, just get it soapy. If I was using it for smoothies, I'd invest in a bottle brush to be able to scrub out the bottom. I wash by hand, and it's difficult to reach the bottom of this tumbler (though not impossible).Regarding the straw: I don't use the straw and never intended to. I'm trying to avoid plastic. I'm more okay with silicone, especially on the outside to protect glass products like this. The hole in the lid is big enough to accommodate your own straw. I'd probably replace it with a glass straw if I needed a straw. The straw I received with the product seemed fine to me in general. Slightly wider in diameter than a normal drinking straw. (The straw doesn't have a ring to keep it inside the cup like I originally thought.)Regarding the lid: I like the quality of the bamboo a lot. It's well-crafted, smooth, and pleasant to touch. Also, they did a good job with the silicone fittings, so that the lid forms a good seal and doesn't look silly when you fit it on (I've bought other products that did *not* get this right--it can go a long way toward aesthetics.)Since I don't use this as an on-the-go water bottle, I only tend to put on the lid when the tumbler's mostly dry. It seems possible for the lid to mold if you leave it sealed with liquid in it for long periods. It is basically wood, after all, and wet wood can mold. If you want to use it this way, I recommend that you regularly wash the lid in soapy water and air it out so it doesn't stay moist too long. Don't run it in the dishwasher. And mineral oil can help the bamboo to last longer. The quality is good enough that it's worth it if you care about having a lid. If you don't want the mold risk at all, you'll want the metal lid version, or something with a silicone or plastic lid.Month update: I've now had this product for a month, and I intend to buy at least one more. I'll surely try to replace it if it ever wears out on me. It works really well as a bedside glass of water for me. Because it's a cylinder shape, it's doesn't knock over in the dark as easily as a traditionally shaped drinking glass. Even if it falls, it's unlikely to shatter with the protective silicone. It feels like an important part of my routine now; I don't feel I could do without it.Finally, the best part: There's no plastic that comes in contact with my water now. I fill up a few glass 5 gallon jugs at a local place. A jug sits atop a ceramic water dispenser with a stainless steel spigot that has silicone grommets. I've a glass pitcher in the fridge for chilled water. Another pitcher in the bedroom for late night hydration. It took some work, but it was worth doing! If you're interested in how I got there: Water jug: 5-Gallon Glass Jug Stainless Steel Spigot I haven't found the perfect water crock yet; the one I got leaks more water than I'd like. If I find the *one* I'll update it here. This is *not* the one I purchased, but you're looking for something like this. Primo is a popular brand--theirs may be good.

Very cute !
I’m happy with what I got. I did see a couple of people say it came dirty, and so did mine but nothing that you can’t wash out lol it did not come broken or anything like that. I will say I have also seen other people say that the wooded part after so many uses had weakened because of getting wet so much, I will personally be putting resin on top of the wood just to protect it a little bit more. But I am very happy with what I received it is very sturdy, comfortable, smooth, definitely getting more colors. If it falls over it doesn’t leak right away but obviously if the straw is inside the liquid will go through the straw and come out but if you take out the straw by itself it does not leak from the sides or anything .

I use this every week!
I love this cup and received some compliments on it. It’s easy to clean and hold. I use it for my morning coffee. I have yet to have a leak even when I’m racing out the door in the morning.

Loved these tumblers! Perfect for gifting!
I gifted these to my bridesmaids on my wedding day and they absolutely LOVED them! Very durable, has a protected sleeve, and easy to clean! Only downside was that the straws they came with were very flimsy and bent but I got some metal straws either way, so it worked out. Would definitely buy again - ordering one for myself as we speak!

Beautiful and functional. Seller constantly improving product
I've purchased multiple of these water bottles and love them. They're very easy to clean and use. The only time I've broken one of the glasses is when I dropped them on concrete - generally, they're very sturdy to regular tumbles and bumps that occur from normal use. They're also quite leak-proof, with the seal being easy to break for refilling but hard to dislodge when knocked over. The seller also has an EXTREMELY generous replacement policy and will ship you a new bottle if your breaks within the first year. The main issue I've had with the product is that if I'm not cleaning the water bottles regularly (my bad habit is to reuse for a few weeks before washing), the ridges in the bamboo lid get mold that doesn't come out. Trying to use vinegar to kill the mold only warped the lids and give them a weird odor. When I talked to the seller about it, however, they replaced not just the lids I had molded but ALL of the lids, and the new ones they sent were covered with silicone on the portion of the lid that would be inside the bottle. I suspect this will solve the mold issue I'd been having, but now I have enough lids to swap them out daily just to be safe. :)The newer line of lids also have a slightly wider opening for the straw. This fixed another minor issue I'd been having, where they were SO leak-proof that there wasn't enough airflow to the interior for me to have an easy time using the straw - I had to rearrange and tilt the straw a lot to get water out and still would sometimes have to try harder than usual. This has completely fixed the airflow issue. The trade-off is that it's easier for the bottles to leak if they tip over, which they didn't at all with the original model unless you tipped the bottle entirely upside down. They compensated for this by adding four silicone flaps to add a milder seal around the straw, and the hole is now closer to the center of the lid so that water won't reach the hole when tipped over unless the bottle is mostly full. Even then, the spill ends up being a series of drops, so I'm satisfied with the slight spill risk in order to have an easier drinking experience. The other element of the bottle is the straws, which I'm happy with. Each bottle ships with a clear straw and one that matches the color of the silicone. These do need to be washed regularly too so they don't get gross (shame on me with my sparse washing habits), but when I've had gunk or even a bit of mold accumulate inside of them from under washing they were very easy to restore. Finally, every element of the bottle is fairly easy to wash. You'll want a thick straw brush and a bottle brush for the most ease; a small hand could fit entirely inside the bottle to clean it without a brush, but it's a tight fit. The trickiest part to clean is the ridges around the rim of the lids, but I've found this has gotten a lot easier with the switch to the new silicone covers around the rim.So, all in all a nearly perfect product from a very reasonable seller. I love using these bottles and switching out the lids and straws in different color combos, and they look and work great. Excited to see what else they do with their products over time.

New and Improved Lid!
After a month of usage, the lid was beginning to mould so I contacted Tronco and they were very accommodating and sent me a whole new one. They changed there lids to have a silicon bottom so moulding no longer occurs. Love the new and improved water bottle!Note the new water bottle is a little taller and skinner than the original.

Do not buy this product!
Do not buy this product. After not even a few weeks the wood top developed black mold. This product was hand washed and only used a couple of times.Definitely not safe. Unfortunately theres no way to reach the sellers for a refund...

The bottle is very attractive, more a glass than a bottle
Overall, I like this water “bottle”. It does a good job to keep water cold, but when ice is added the bottle sweats A LOT. Another irritant is that the lid does not close tight at all, in fact it just really sits on top of the glass. I can’t bring this with me tucked in my purse bottle pouch or in a water bottle carrier, for example, I can only carry it around in my hand or in the car cup holder. The rubber/plastic cover is attractive and good for protecting the glass but I have been unable to take it off to clean the bottle underneath it. Good point is that the water tastes good in it, there is no after taste like there is in others. I just wish the lid was a better fit. My glass straw fits nicely in the operating and that and the inside is easy to clean.

Poor quality
The idea of this tumbler is exactly what I wanted but unfortunately the quality is very poor. The glass is extremely thin, I would be surprised if it holds up for very long. The lid does not fit tightly and securely on. The straws that were provided were cheap, tacky plastic and a different colour from the cup. The bottom does not sit flush, meaning the cup wobbles when placed on a hard, flat surface. For the price I would not say it’s worth it as like I said, it doesn’t feel like it will last long.
