Very applicable and helpful
Be reverent is virtually a verse by verse study of Ezekiel, Wiersde takes a literalist viewpoint and explains this prophetic old testament book, but he also shows how there are nuggets and morals and truth that we can and should apply to the here and now of everyday living. Sidebar also gives us some awesome commentary on the prophetic portions of this book in which there are many I.e. future wars chp.38,39, - valley of dry bones. If one was to study the book of Ezekiel side by side with this commentary, I feel they understand Ezekial better than they ever have. Glad I read this commentary.

Another useful commentary in the BE series
I have read several of Wiersbe's BE Bible commentaries and found them all useful. Unlike the other books I've read in the series, I've never studied Ezekiel before. Having read the Bible through annually for many years, of course, I have read Ezekiel a number of times, but never before have I done a study of it. Since I was at a basic level on this, I didn't look up all the cross-references, of which there are many. I concentrated on reading the chapters of Ezekiel referenced in each section of the commentary and looked up cross-references only if I had a question about the topic or something in the discussion particularly intrigued me. I had thought that Ezekiel was primarily prophesying about the Babylonian captivity and the return of the exiles and was fascinated to read how the author interprets Ezekiel in terms of the end times.

An Excellent Commentary of Ezekiel
This is an excellent commentary of the book of Ezekiel. I use it in my Bible study and found it an excellent source for it and I highly recommend it for either a group or a personal Bible study.

a slow walk through a difficult book
It was a good companion for a daily reading of Ezekiel. However, I’m still left with a lot of questions. I need a bigger book.

I needed that
Ezekiel was a hard read, so Wiersby's treatment was welcome. I really appreciate the insights and references to other prophets and history to help clarify a lot of things book.

GOD DESERVES OUR WORSHIP
We live in a day when we often expect much of God but fail to give Him the honor and worship He deserves. The book of Ezekiel speaks of such a time in the history of the tribe of Judah and contains prophecies that God gave to Ezekiel to present to exiles from Judah to Babylon to show them how He had nurtured and made them into a blessed nation and how they in turn had turned their backs on Him and worshipped the idols of the surrounding nations. God presents to the exiles to Babylon why He was justified in bringing judgment upon them and why they should repent of their sins and turn back to Him. It made me weep not only for Israel, but for our nation which so clearly has been blessed by God, but is growing further and further away from Him.
