Do they come with batteries?

The batteries did not work. Perhaps it was a returned shipment??

Is the "flame" thin, and does it actually move and sway like the more-expensive Luminara candles?

The candle does flicker. The photo is a little deceiving since it appears to be slightly yellowish amber. It's very white. They're pretty small and very plastic but they were perfect for my project. I tied a ribbon in a knot around them, (not a bow) put them on a homemade coaster that matched the ribbon and used them as little favors at a Christmas party. They were cute enough that most took theirs home. The flame if round and not quite 1/2" in diameter. It does not move and sway. Hope this helps.

Will these fit in mason jars?
