Great mouse
First off, I have been using this mouse for autocad at work for over 2 years now and it is really a great mouse. Anyone who uses CAD knows that the number of clicks I've put on this thing is somewhere in the millions, but all buttons are still responsive and everything still works and feels like it should. The first knock I have on it is that it feels like a lightweight cheap piece of plastic and I was worried about this when I first got it. But I am pleasantly surprised at how well it has held up. The second knock is that after about a month of use, the wheel started to squeak and squeal like a worn out brake pad, but that went away after another 2 months or so and now it is smooth and quiet. I can't recommend this thing more and now my wrist doesn't feel sore after work.

Disappointed
The new Evoluent vertical mouse is more comfortable, more sophisticated than the old Vertical Mouse 4. However, there's one deal breaker. It squeaks. The buttons squeak when pressed. It sounds like a creaky old rocking chair. In addition, the scroll wheel is noisy. Why put all the effort into designing such an excellent product, then cheap out on the construction? I'll either go back to the VM4 or find something better. Too bad because I've been using Evoluent products since the original Vertical Mouse. This update is no upgrade.

Fairly comfortable, fairly expensive
My old mouse was starting to hurt my wrist, so I figured I needed to upgrade to something with better ergonomics. I've had experience with a Logitech mouse where you control the cursor with a thumb-controlled trackball. The Evoluent is not of the trackball cursor type. A product suggestion: create a product that incorporates a touchpad where the thumb rests to control the cursor. If you reach your arm forward and point with your index, that is basically the shape your hand will make when cradling this mouse.I can tell the VerticalMouse C puts less of a strain on my wrist. I think this is because of the way the Evoluent keeps the wrist in a less tense / more stationary natural position. Slides easily across different surfaces. Avoid irregular surfaces as the mouse stops recognizing movement after a mm or two height difference. One thing I am having an issue with is the mouse wheel is beginning to make noise after less than a month of use. I was surprised that for nearly $100 the product appears cheaply made. The plastic feels pretty thin and could probably be upgraded to a more sturdy type, and maybe textured in some way to give your fingers more grip on the buttons. I suppose it's no worse quality than a typical run of the mill computer mouse. Look at the bright side I guess, it's definitely not heavy!PS. Amazon is trying to confuse us dumb Americans with a "Sheerness" rating in the product reviews. Don't let them do it to you! Especially when sheerness has nothing to do with a computer mouse.. ot does it?!Please hit this review is Helpful if you agree or disagree!Sheerness:The property of being sheerThe state or quality of being steepFineness or intricacy of texture or structureUsage of sheerness more related to a product review:The materials used in construction were the same but the coverage was not, resulting in increased sheerness. High quality ergonomic mouse
* the mouse feels pretty good in hand, seems to be durable and is light* the movement is on point, no hiccups* wrist is in more upright position that many other vertical mice which feels really natural and comfortable* thumb rest is high compared to mice I had before which supports more natural position* separate middle button instead of clicking on small scroll wheel is addictive for me* clicking on the lowest button needs a bit of practice (it requires to start using ring finger) and took me some time to get used to it* thumb buttons are easily accessible and I like them more then two buttons next to each other above the thumb (those require more thumb stretching back and forth)* benefits of the Evoluent application: * functions of all buttons can be remapped, so you can create a setup that suites you the most * option to turn on eye comfort mode to adjust brightness of the screen with mouse wheel (with some key pressed) * support 'hyper-scrolling' - it means that the sensitivity of scrolling adjust with speed of scrolling the wheel (this is another addictive feature for me)

Super comfortable but no software
I have 2 of these, a right and a left-handed version. They are super comfortable and I love that aspect. I was able to program the buttons exactly as I needed and it saved my endless mouse clicks. I give it one star because when I upraded to OSX Catalina the software stopped working. That was over 2 years ago, and they have been promising me that they are working on it. The recommended some 3d party software that is terrible. It also doesn't work. So, save your money, because those buttons are useless. Click, right click, and scroll, that's it. You can get that for far less money.

Love it
I constantly need to click my mouse at my work, so my righr wrist usually hurts after few hours of work. I bought this vertical mouse to save my wrist. Now I can work for hours straight without hurting my wrist. Thank you so much!

Expensive but an extremely good mouse for people who use one all day
A very good mouse, at least for general office work which is what I use it for, I haven't tried it for gaming. The vertical style looks odd, but takes very little getting used to. I had a wireless Evoluent Vertical Mouse 4 before and I found it a little annoying as it would regularly drop the connection to my Mac, then reconnect, usually quite quickly but it was still jarring - apparently this was to help battery life. This C model wired mouse is great, no problem with the connection because it's permanent. The wheel also works better than the previous version, it's a little notchy in its motion, but more accurate. The weight of the mouse is good, it has a little heft but is still very easy to move around.I got my first vertical mouse because I was getting pains in my lower arm. I'm not going to say the weird shape of these mice was a miracle cure, but it definitely helped. Moving to a vertical mouse and changing some other things that was stressing my arm means no pain or problems any more. I've never wanted to move back to standard mice and when I use them, they now feel a bit odd.I have very big hands and this model is perfect for me. If you've got small hands, I suggest looking around Evoluent's range for a smaller model. On the down side: this is a good mouse, but it's very expensive. If you want to try a vertical mouse but don't know if you're going to get on with it, try an Anker brand one, they're much cheaper, and still quite decent. I wore out mine, which gave me the chance to try Evoluent again, and I've had it for much longer than my Anker one with no issues. The only other criticism I've got is I don't like the bright blue lights they've put on the top of this model to indicate the speed setting. When I first got it I found them irritating as I'd catch sight of them in the corner of my eye. If you work in dim light, this might be an issue for you.
