It was listed as compatible with the new alienware area 51m. this case has a width of 12.5, but the 51m has a width of 15.9. how can this case fit?

My area 51m with a 17.3” screen, fits with room to spare. Just to let you know, the case is heavy and I use it for school and people always say it looks like a gun case or a bomb and I have been asked to show security what is in it on campus.

Will it protect my Area 51m if I check it in with my other baggage?

I would be very cautious, it probably will if you cut one layer of foam to be on the bottom as well as the top of your computer, but I would be very cautious for damaging it and losing it. It also doesn’t lock in anyway.

Will this work for alienware m14x

It works for my Alienware Area 51 so I wouldn’t see why not. I would be careful though I use it for school and I get stopped every once in awhile because it looks like I have a weapon, but other than that the case works great.
