Exselle Half Pad with Wither Relief

oh my gosh, i was so worried about this for the price but i promise you it’s worth it!! so thick and perfect size! i have a 17in saddle and lined up pretty much perfect adds so much comfort for both me and my horse :)

I've only had it a day, so this review doesn't include any info about longevity. I purchased this because I ride in a lesson program, so I switch horses often. My saddle isn't going to fit every horse. And let's face it - you can never have enough padding. Some of the older horses clearly have sensitive backs - they just don't like the riders with a deeper seat and prefer half seat. I used this today on a TB (regular, not high, withers). The pad kept the saddle off of the withers. His ears never laid back when we did flatwork that required a little bit of a heavier seat than our jumping courses. And overall he just seemed not at all irritated. There are some other more sensitive horses I'd like to try this on, but overall I'm pleased.

I purchased the white one and i am very happy with it! Have had it for around a year+ and it still looks as great as it did when i first got it, (minus all the dirt it has now from being in use) it stays very fluffy, and holds its nice shape but still does a good job shaping to the horses back and you saddle. Fits my 16.5" perfect, i would say the largest you can put on it is a 17", but it will definitely end up sitting on the fleece rolls at the back. So i'd advise this for saddles 16.5" and under. It fits my high withered TB well, and also fits my QH that has pretty regular withers. I really couldnt be more happy with this product!!

I bought this because I ride many different sizes and shaped horses where my saddle usually wouldn't fit all of them. It molds perfectly to your horse's back as well has the saddle instantly. It fits my 17 in. saddle perfectly!!! (got the 19 in size). It did not have the fleece along the wither part of the spine like it showed in the picture, but the half pad is still fantastic. Came in just a few days. It lifts your saddle off of their back and wither while still giving you close contact with your horse. The faux fleece it very soft. Highly recommend this product!!!

Love this half pad. It works well for the price; I can actually feel it cushioning my horse's back when I ride. It's perfect for high-withered horses like thoroughbreds, or if you're working on building a topline and your horse might appreciate some extra padding! It does run a little small, however. I have an eighteen inch close contact saddle, and it barely fits on the 22 inch pad. I doubt it would fit any bigger saddle size. The quality appears to be good for the price, but time will tell!

This half pad definitely looks like the fancy expensive ones that the professionals wear. It is a good value I suppose, and does offer some good cushioning under the saddle. However, this is definitely a cheaper polyester fleece, not the super soft sheepskin of other more expensive half pads. But if you aren't highly competitive, and you are just looking for a nice looking half pad for some extra padding, this is a good choice.

Its a good pad but should not be used to replace a gel or memory foam pad. My young mare doesn't like how stiff it is but my old gelding loves it. My old guy has a bad back but this pad has made him less sore.My only issue is that its stiff which makes it not suitable for some horses. It gets less stiff with use but for my young horse i my switch back to my other half pad.

I like the pad but it is about twice as thick as I was hoping. It would probably be better for a horse with an under developed top line or high withers. My mare does seem comfortable, but I am hoping that it flattens a bit. I don't want her shoulders to feel squeezed due to a thick half pad. Other than that, it seems like a quality product.

Purchased the 19" for use under a 16" jumping saddle. Was definitely too short the rear of the saddle sits on the edge of the half pad. Will be returning.

good quality and price! fits perfectly in the saddle and it's not very bulky as it seems, it's totally perfect
