used them to turn my coffee table into a storage chest. the arms are strong and durable easy to install on what ever your project may be.

It works and does what it is supposed to, but some issues1. Its hard to explain, but the 2 parallel bits arent parallel horizontally, so the lifting bit might be closer or further away from the edge of your table, and might rub against the material.2. It is really hard to install as the holes are going to be hard to access unless your table doesnt have a bottom. This could have been solved with a drill template for the top along with some way to attach it correctly, and also it would have been great if the installation holes along the top were slots rather than holes so they can be adjusted.3. The gas pistons are too strong. It is very easy to lift the top, but it quite a struggle to get it to go back down, need 2 hands and might need to use your body as well.As it stands it took me the better part of a day to install it, more time than that was spent planning how to install it, and it still ended up with the top about half a cm forward rather than flush with the base. And it is very easy to lift the top, but quite a challenge to drop it back.Common complaint i saw with these was a left to right sway, but I am not seeing it, possibly due to either issue 1 or 3 above.

Good value for money, and they did the job just fine.

These hinges are a great way to be able to make furniture with storage inside it.You can use them either on your own, DIY furniture or to improve an old piece you already have. They are easy to use and just screw into the main body and the lid you want to lift. They then make it easy to lift the top of your furniture with very little effort needed.They move up and backwards slightly making it easy to access whatever is inside whilst still keeping the top surface flat. Overall, they are very handy and I would recommend them.

​A few months back, my wife and I were fortunate enough to find a large solid oak coffee table in a local "reuse" shop which was nloved and unwanted. On inspection, I saw the the top was screwed onto the frame rather than any sophisticated joints having been used, so it was ideal for me to mess about with.We got it home, unscrewed the lid from the frame, and sanded down all the component elements. It has since sat in my workshop waiting for a good idea for what to do with it!These lift-up hinges are absolutely perfect for our purposes. I fitted the hinges (took ages to map out exactly where I should fasten to the top and frame, but I didn't want to mess it up). Now it's all fastened together and we have a lovely piece of furniture as a very functional coffee table and, when we feel like it, we can lift the lid to make a super "TV table", that is suitable for us to sit and watch telly while eating from the table.The table itself is, as I said, solid oak, so it has the "heft" necessary for us to eat from it without fear of over-balancing. I can't help thinking that if the table were of chipboard, that it may tip over towards us.These are excellent hinges that have done a great job for us (you just have to have the right project to use them in...).

They seem to work well and are strong. Easy enough to open and close.
