For the love of all that is good and super critical, please don't waste your time on these on anything with these wingnut and spring type device(s).The design is absolute drek.It would/will be very easy for the mechanism to break, thereby releasing, violently, the counter spring.True story.So... if you plan on buying these for the retort portion of this device (because the other side is bovine excrement, at best, AND dangerous), don't come into the lab with a bad attitude as this would be enough to set off this mouse trap - on the clamp side.If your partner is working with these when you walk in with said "attitude", you might lose a lab partner to a rival chemist.Even if they give these away, you are risking a disaster in the lab (or kitchen, bedroom, bathroom, garage, trailer,... etc.).Stay away from spring loaded devices that can fail.I learned this lesson so you don't have to.My name is Richard Noggin and I approved this rating ( >===--------> : -- ] )

One of the clamps has weak threads, preventing it from being tightened and therefore useless. This defect should have been caught prior to sale.
