Didn’t catch anything
My house was swarming with little flies and I couldn’t get rid of them no matter what I did. This was recommended specifically for phorid flies but did not catch a single one. It caught one fungus gnat. It did however manage to attract my cat who climbed to an area I had no idea he could get to and got totally attached to the thing. Had to oil him to get it off and then bathe him. So it is indeed very sticky and easy to use, but didn’t work for the black little phorid flies.

It caught bugs but the pheromones are useless
The sticky trap only worked right up next to the soil for fungus gnats. It caught a bunch of of them but not all. It seems the pheromones are useless, with zero instructions. I don’t know if they were supposed to be dissolved or just used a dry pellets. I used them dry in the base.It is SUPER sticky and I damaged some of my plants with it by accidentally touching the leaves to it… hard not to when it needs to be so close to catch anything by chance. It also caught a small lizard and I couldn’t save the little guy unfortunately, because it’s super sticky and even after removing, he was disabled by all the glue 😞🦎💀Would I recommend this? Sure, give it a try.. but I wish it came with instructions for the pellets. Maybe I did something wrong?

Doesn't smell bad and easy to set up
This product is ment for house flies, not phorid flies. But I haven't found many products that kill specifically phorids, so I bought some stuff to try. This may not have worked on them at all, but **I was impressed with the potential to catch flies.** You just slide it out of the box, poor the bate in the bottom and hang it somewhere. No pulling, sticky fingers or tacks involved.

Catches lots of flying insects
Despite the negative reviews, I was quite pleased with this product and sm ordering two more. The thing was covered with flies, moths and other flying insects when I took it down. The only thing I didn't like was it also caught three or four praying mantises, which were attracted to the insects on the trap but couldn't escape the sticky surface. I had released mantises into the yard from eggs, also to control insects. I tried to get one of them off the trap but it was useless because it had so much glue on it. Other than that, I think they work great.

Zero flies
Not impressed. The bait doesn't work. No flies on the device. But flies are buzzing all around it. I give it a zero.

Bad Packaging
What I wanted and ordered, but arrived with no exterior package or protection. Thin paper boxes were smashed against the very strong adhesive on the center tube that made both units unworkable.Looks like good thing, but poor packing caused the complaint!

If flies land on it, they will not take off again
I have had a recent event of small sewer flies coming from my drain. I have been treating the drains with enzymes to eliminate the food source and ordered this fly trap to catch the remaining flies. I have to admit that I did not read the directions. I added the fly attractant into the base and use two sided tape to fasten it to the counter. After a couple of weeks, I see a few flies stuck to the trap, but there are quite a few that just ignore it. It is very sticky and anything that gets near it is instantly stuck. I happened to let a plastic bag get too close and the remnants of it are now permanently on the trap. I would not recommend it based on my experience but it was probably user error too.
