My daughter loves this seat. It is secure, comfortable and I feel safe with her in it. Much better than having her riding in front of me or behind with no seat. Horses don’t mind it either. It is good quality too. Worth the money if you have a little one who needs to tag along!

This buddy saddle is great. I wasn’t sure about how this would go even with a calm horse such as ours- as far as I know this was a new experience for him. I rode him around and then put the buddy saddle on without a child and rode again. Once I felt comfortable I put my daughter on with me. You’re going to have to put them on first or have another grown up to lift them up. Like the other reviewers I did the front nylon strap to the ring for for my cinch (I also threaded it through a D ring for a rear cinch on my saddle). I did the furthest nylon strap second to snug it up and keep the back from riding up. It’s a good design and feels secure. The child’s stirrup length can be adjusted one handed while you’re mounted if necessary which is a nice touch. There’s reinforced straps for them to hold onto in the front which my daughter liked. This is a nice way to get them used to the feel and rhythm of riding and build confidence. My horse is really calm but he likes to go fast so I’m not ready to put her on him solo yet. This is a good in-between. I’m hoping to take him out to the trail soon with her. My daughter is 45lbs and about 44” tall for reference. I’m really happy with this purchase. It appears well made and sturdy enough that we can log some miles together and hopefully it will also service my son in the future. I would not recommend this for kids under 3-4 as the seat is very deep and has no depth (it’s a bit convex as it matches the curve of the rump) and you can’t monitor the child since they’re behind you.

We bought this for taking grandkids on horseback rides with us. Went on our first one a couple of days ago. It seems to be made well and it was comfortable for our 7-year-old grandson. I like that it has stirrups and handles, so the kids feel more secure. Unfortunately, there are not enough holes in the straps, so the seat kept sliding left and right throughout the ride, and we had to keep stopping to adjust him, because he kept saying he was afraid he was going to fall off. I will have my husband make more holes in all the straps and see if that helps keep the seat in one place. I wish they had done that in the first place, but other than that, it's a great little gadget.

The media could not be loaded. I usually don’t leave reviews but I felt the need to do so for this buddy saddle. This buddy saddle is by far the most amazing thing ever! My 5 year old has been asking to go out on trail with me but she gets lazy so she would prefer to be ponied and feel safe with mom. This buddy saddle allowed me to take her on trails and she absolutely can’t get enough!I attached this buddy saddle to my saddle for 2 days and ride around with it to see how my horse would react and how secure it would stay. I cantered with it on and the stirrups flapped around and I knew my horse would be just fine and secondly the buddy saddle didn’t budge! It’s absolutely secure and not going anywhere! I attached both straps to the front girth rings where your cinch and Latigo would be attached. I did the front straps first to make sure it was even and then the back ones.Anyone looking to bring their little ones on a trail ride with them I would absolutely recommend this for! Horse in picture is a 9 year old appendix gelding who is 15.3 hh and weighs about 1300 lbs. Happy Trails!

I got this for a Christmas gift for my almost 4 granddaughter but couldn’t try it out until this past week due to weather. I am very pleased. It is secure and seems safe. I did decide that before any trotting was involved I’d tie a partial bag of grain on the buddy saddle that weighs about what my granddaughter weighs and take my horse out that way. I may decide to put some kind of saddle blanket/pad under it too although not really necessary but I think the horse might like it better😊

This item is exactly as described. It is well made and ready to go straight out of the box. Shipping was extremely fast as well.

Just got a chance to use this and it turned out pretty great! My daughter rode with me and she was very comfortable. I thought it was pretty long at first and would fit a bigger horse even better but we did great on my paint mare.

It did its job, I only wished that they sent instructions on how to attach it with it. But I found a video!
