Excellent watercolor paper!
I love this paper and can easily see why so many other watercolor artist rave about it. I have many small blocks of watercolor paper and find myself reaching for this one the most. I love the texture and thickness of the paper. I like that a knife was included for ease of paper removal when done with a piece. I seen other reviews where their paper would tear in removal. There is a lot of glue on the sides of the block! After I had two tiny tears on my piece with the little boy and his teddy bear, I use the knife differently. I will slide that knife under pretty far and slide carefully at an angle. No more rips of the paper! I will say that even though it has thick glue on the sides, the paper does buckle quite a bit. I find that surprising with the way the block is made. Thankfully, my hair dryer knocks those ripples out nicely and I go back to laying down color. I will definitely be purchasing more of this watercolor paper in a variety of sizes! Highly recommend to other watercolor artists. Can’t go wrong with Baohong!

Baohong cold press 100% cotton watercolor paper review
Excellent water color paper. 100% cotton, great for gradated washes without paper warping. This is my fourth purchase of the cold press. It's been quite reliable and the price point makes it a wise choice, against the higher priced Arches paper I usually use. it also comes with a cute handy green plastic knife in the shape of a leaf for releasing the the glued edges. Highly recommended.

Excellent Paper For New And Experienced Artists
I was looking for a 100% cotton block that didn't require the sale of my organs to afford and the Baohong block is one of those.Pros:The cold press finish is more like rough finish if compared to other brands, but not a deal breaker. The paper takes water well and handles scrubbing, lifting and reworking better than any other paper I have used. Pigments dry a little lighter and slightly less vibrant than Arches or Fluid 100 but all of that can be compensated for by its great glazing and reworking capability. It is easy to remove from the block (I use a palette knife) and remains flat if you let it dry before removing. Unsure of the archival quality - check back in 50 years or so.Cons:The size stated is inaccurate - the actual size is 6x9 inches. Again not a deal breaker. It has become one of my go-to papers, and I will be purchasing again.

My favorite paper
Quality paper, very very minimal curling. And the paint flows nicely. I was surprised by the texture at first, because it's rougher than your typical cold press paper. But it works beautifully for me. I love it and have bought several blocks.

QUALITY OF PAPER
Actually, I just received the product 2 days ago and have used it once. I like the texture and the control when laying down the first wash. Double loading the brush, colors mix beautifully. I am well pleased with my first go with Baohong paper.I will have a better feel after the wash dries and proceed to a finished painting. At this time I would buy again.JoBeth Gilliam

their student quality seems better than this block
i like the plastic separation tool and the thickness of the paper and the journal size.I tried a sample pack of all their student and artist quality paper and ordered a larger student block which was ok. Noticed this was artist quality for only a couple dollars more but it honestly does not hold up to water well. Starts crumbling. very weird because their others did not do that. Not a fan. Also a little rougher than i like which required a wetter brush but then didn't hold up well. It's ok not great
