Q: which would you recommend the Fibrox or the Rosewood handle?

It really is personal preference. The Rosewood has the advantage of a better appearance. The Fibrox has a more secure grip but not as attractive. The cutting edge is the same.Chefs Corner Store

Q: Has the wooden handle deteriorated due to washing with water daily for anyone using this knife so long, through the years? wood doesn't like water!

I do something terrible with these knives. I run them through the dishwasher once, which removes most of the clear finish on the handle. I then sand the wood with very fine (220 grit) sandpaper until they are smooth, bare wood. Then I oil them to within an inch of their lives with Boos Butcher Block Mystery Oil. I only hand wash after that and re-oil as needed. 20+ years on of practically daily use and they are still beautiful and functional.

No, it comes in a package that consists of cardboard backing and clear plastic over top of knife that is molded to form over knife to keep it in place until the knife is removed from the packaging. Once removed there is nothing to protect the knife.

Q: What are the pros/cons for fibrox ffp vs. rosewood?

FFP just stands for frustration free packaging. Fibrox handles are a light weight, durable plastic that can be put in the dishwasher. Rosewood handles are not dishwasher safe and it is recommended to treat the handles occasionally with conventional cooking oil to refresh the wood grain and prevent the ingress of moisture.

great knife in every way

Comfortable handle. Plenty of space for proper grip without hitting knuckles. Super, super, super sharp (be careful!). Aesthetically very nice. Note for half the price you can get the plastic handle version which is better in industrial environments, but I like the rosewood

Magnifico cuchillo a precio razonable

Excelente cuchillo sin ínfulas de ningún tipo. Tiene el tamaño correcto para tipo chef y corta muy bien. Falta por ver cómo conserva el filo con el uso; en todo caso, no parece un acero delicado de los que hay que afilar constantemente. Muy contento con la compra.

Mega Geschenk!

Ich habe es meinem Opa zum Geburtstag geschenk und er nutzt es jeden Tag. Es ist super scharf und damit lässt sich so gut wie alles schneiden :) Auf YouTube wird es von Chefköchen empfohlen sowohl für Anfänger sowie für Fortgeschrittene Köche. Also das war echt ein top Geschenk!

Sharp sharp sharp

This knife is nice to hold and is very sharp. Scarily sharp. Cut myself the first time I used it.So I bought anti-cut gloves and now much more confident to use it. Slices through chicken breast snd steaks like butter.Lovely wooden handle. Nice to hold.Going to buy more of this rosewood series.
