Good-bye, cone of shame!
My 72 lb Lab had to have a dew claw toe amputated on her front paw due to a tumor. While she's generally very good about not chewing at hotspots, incisions, etc., this was a major incision/wound, will take weeks to heal, and will be in a spot that, when she lays down, is right in her face - very tempting to lick. And, being such a large dog, we couldn't exactly carry her everywhere, especially outside to "go", so we needed something that would protect and be flexible, and easily cleaned, yet stay in place and be so comfortable she wouldn't try to remove it. THIS WAS PERFECT!I ordered the Large size, and it fit well, using all but the very 1st set of snaps. It went all the way down her leg comfortably to her front toes, and the cuff was snug, but not too much - just enough to keep it from working upwards as she wore it. I actually rolled it back, to allow her to have traction on our hardwood floors and to keep it clean when she went out. It's soft, but the fabric is sturdy, heavy weight jersey with a bit of stretch, similar to athletic & children's clothes. She didn't seem to get too warm while wearing it indoors, and it dried quickly whenever it got wet (well, soaked!) from licking or from going outside early in the morning as the frost on the grass melted. It wasn't tight fitting at all, so it allowed air circulation, and the fabric has a smooth, tight weave so it didn't stick to the wound. It was a god send for us. Our dog had an unusual reaction post-op, she has extremely small veins, and the slightest pressure or constriction around her leg, even from a loose bandage will cause extreme swelling. It became so bad that we had to keep it unbandaged most of the time, and someone had to be with her constantly for the first 72 hours to hold a very loose, light bandage over it so it stayed protected from dirt, hair, carpet fibers, etc. and to check, remove & change the bandage every few hours when she slept. And, she clearly was uncomfortable, as despite our efforts, sometimes just adjusting her position or walking around would cause the wound to brush against something, and it would hurt - a lot.Once we put the Suitical Recovery Sleeve on her, all those problems went away. It was loose enough, even at the cuff, that there were no problems with her circulation or swelling, and it slipped on easily without rubbing against the wound. We had a few days of very low temps - like 12F - and this kept her leg warm and dry when she went out, or when in the cold car on vet visits, too. She stopped trying to lick the wound all the time, and even when she did, she couldn't actually make contact with it, so it was still protected. The sleeve didn't restrict her motion at all - she ran up & down stairs, jumped on & off people & furniture, and really seemed so much more comfortable and like her old pre-surgery self after she began wearing the Suitical Sleeve, because it allowed the wound to stay protected and begin to heal. The sleeve went thru the washer like a dream, too. I did toss it in the dryer, on the perma press/low cycle, because I wanted to get it back on her ASAP, and it came out fine.It was super easy to get on, even while she was laying down and refusing to move her Flabrador self off the couch. The vet loves it, the cuff is stretchy enough that she was able to put cup her fingers around the paw, push them under the cuff, and open them up as she pulled up the sleeve - kind of like the way people put on stretchy compression socks or tights/pantyhose.I can't say enough good things about this product. it's really well constructed and thought out. She's worn it, so far, continuously for a week, except for an hour off for washing & drying. She's worn it outdoors, running thru our soggy/frozen yard as snow melted & refroze, jumping around & barking at deer & squirrels outside the fence, and it still looks brand new. No fraying or coming apart at seams or around snaps, so many rows of snaps and a double strip of well-positioned, soft, flexible but strong velcro makes it very adjustable so each size with fit a nice range of body builds. It covered all the way to her armpit (pawpit?), and a wide area over the outer side of her shoulder & across her back to the other shoulder, so it would be great for a dog with a wound, hot spot, etc. in that area as well. Very soft & smooth inside, and the velcro never gets near their skin, so it would be comfortable for a dog with short hair or that's been shaved, or is very thin - no rubbing anywhere at all. The black color hides stains from blood, food, etc too. Vet is recommending these to other owners, and I'm recommending to everyone I know as well.

Works great and he can use his doggy door again
Since several people had mentioned getting a size smaller than your dog measures, I got both the small, which he measured into and a very small. I have a beagle Jack mix who got into a little dust up at doggy day care and wound up with a gash on the inside left front leg just above the elbow. I will qualify this by saying that he is definitely not a chewer, so I was fairly certain that chewing this thing would not be a problem and it wasn't. But he is a little Houdini dog. I put the small on him and tightened it to the last two rows of snaps since they say you have to have two rows snapped at least. I had to fold the leg up since it was too long. I turned my back on him for 5 seconds and found that he had pulled his leg out of the sleeve and was working over the wound pretty good. Then I tried the very small. I had all rows snapped and didn't have to fold the leg up. He has done very well with that. One of their selling points is that the tighness of the chest strap exerts a calming effect. I have found that to be true with the very small. Unfortunately, the small was not tight enough around the chest even on the last two rows of snaps, to make a difference. He seems to be comfortable enough and one big benefit is that he can use his doggy door again so I don't have to keep opening and closing the door for him. He couldn't get through it with the e-collar on. He has a couple more days of this before the Suitical can come off, but the wound is clean and dry and all swelling and redness is gone. Looks like it is healing well.

A great alternative!
I can't speak for how this item will last, as I just got it. But it seems to be made well. The fabric is t-shirt soft and also adjustable for fitting. The velcro IS weak, but the snaps are sturdy, so I suspect the velcro is for keeping the tab down. My pit bull is 75lbs and the large fit perfectly. For those contemplating size options, this same size also fit my potato round bulldog, I'd just have to roll the sleeve a notch. I'd recommend a medium for slimmer large breeds though.

For a resistant lick granuloma - I'd call this $40 well spent!
Overall, I'm quite happy with the purchase. My lab has a lick granuloma that has been pretty persistent and he's impossible to keep a bandage on, and hates the cone. I decided to try this as a last ditch effort, and it WORKED! I would give it 5 stars, except for the fact that the fabric stretches WAAAY out. It fit comfortably, if a bit loosely, when I first put it on, but it stretches out pretty quick. I had to adjust the chest strap within a couple days. The leg had to be folded up, but that I think was because my dog licks the wrap. So dog spit = stretchy fabric (who would have thought, right??). All that being said, he hasn't managed to get this completely off. The first night, he did tear the sleeve a bit, but seemed to resign himself to the sleeve after that. I just sewed up the little tear on the strap and away we went. He has been wearing the sleeve 24/7 for about 2 weeks now, and the granuloma is nearly gone! I threw the sleeve in the wash to try and shrink it back down, and ordered a medium. I suspect we'll be needing these things regularly, but I'm so glad I finally found something that worked. He's had this granuloma for 5 or 6 months now and shown zero improvement until now. I'd call this $40 well spent!

Worth the money great product
This worked for my one dog for his leg injury. I purchased a brand name one prior to this one and he chewed through that one. I decided to try this one and success .. no chewing through it ,fit awesome and he was so proud wearing it like he had a sleeve.Hint don't wash it before or they will chew through

Buena calidad

Best support for my cat as she couldn't get it off
One of my cats has an injury to one of her front legs and no one including several vets know what caused it but she has licked all her fur off from paw to thigh. Cones and collars are no good as she can reach her leg so tried this leg sleeve. She can push it up somehow and lick her lower leg and has scratched the top and made a hole as material is quite thin but the sleeves have shrunk slightly in the wash so have now ordered the next size.I think these sleeves are excellent for the welfare of the animals so they can wash and eat without the problems a cone or collar bring. Need to be adjusted a bit for cats as fastening a bit heavy if it's a small cat but overall a brilliant invention. Very happy.
