Romo App-Controlled Robotic Pet for iOS Devices - for iPhone 5, 5s & 5c

The robot is definitely an interesting toy. But BUYER BEWARE!!! It teaches basic programming with the software. As a learning toy its decent. The programming is limited as you can only create 1 program. So if you make one to let the robot explore the surroundings, you can't save a second one to make him react to clapping (which doesn't work well to begin with). It also would've been better to have him speak actual English. The gibberish he speaks is pointless considering how easy it would've been to implement real language. It's a good stand alone toy, HOWEVER, IF YOU WANTED TELEPRESENCE DON'T BOTHER BUYING IT. The main reason I got this toy for my daughter was so she could talk with her grandmother remotely. I've had it 3 months and it has never worked. I contacted support multiple times and was informed that since they didn't actually control the website that facilitates the telepresence, they had no control of the problems preventing it from working. So basically they sourced out to another company to make the telepresence work and it doesn't. Apparently they seem unwilling to have them fix it either.

It has some fun interactivity but you can't remote access from other networks as far as I can tell, I was hoping to use it to check in on my dog when i was away but no joy there.

Do not buy! This toy no longer works with the current IOS 9. The 800 number to the company as well as their website help is no longer active. What a huge disappointment for a toy that was touted by Apple in 2014 and a year later no longer has any customer support. Shameful.

Works as advertised and it lost its novelty so no one uses it at all anymore.

not all cracked up to be what we thought

It doesn't do as much as I thought it would---the descriptions from the developer are misleading. I am hoping the upgrades will expand its capabilities.

Company went out of business last year and no longer updated their app. After the iOS 9 upgrade in fall 2015, the app stopped working, and Apple in its infinite wisdom does not allow you to downgrade back to iOS 8. So Romo's just a paperweight now.This product should be delisted from Amazon.

The Romo is fun and has great potential. Its applications are very good and the development kit cimple my expectations

Brilliant. I bought this when it was £20 for my 84 year old father who loves technology. Told all my friends about it who are now desperate for a romotive, however they've gone up to £60. As they have stopped manufacturing them I should imagine they are hard to get hold of now

This is a great novelty thing. Children got board of it quickly.

Peccato, perchè l'aggeggio è davvero ben fatto e curato. si vede tutta la progettualità che è stata messa in campo per la realizzazione. Dai materiali all'elettronica. In ogni caso, anche se ufficialmente non funziona con iOS 9, sono riuscito a farlo andare (limitatamente per ora) con un iPhone 5 (presa lightening) escludendo le notifiche, altrimenti il software va in crash. Comunque, pilotarlo in giro per casa usando un iPad 2, visualizzando in tempo reale tramite la videocamera dell'iPhone, è davvero divertente. E per 16€ ne vale la pena. Se riuscirò a far funzionare la chiamata remota via Internet (cosa per cui è nato) sarò davvero soddisfatto. Anche se dovessi essere costretto ad un jailbreak dei dispositivi. Nota davvero negativa, non esiste pulsante di reset di alcun tipo. Il mio si è "impallato" e sono stato costretto ad aprirlo per staccare l'alimentazione. Una volta fatto, il "coso" si è ripreso. Non testato con IPhone. Comprato per modificarlo con arduino - bluetooth e renderlo compatibile con android. Peccato il produttore non esista più ed abbia cessato il supporto.
