Ideal for a Millivolt System (which is a must in the event of power outages)
This thermostat was super easy to install for use with our gas fireplace - no adjustments, just hook up the 2 wires and go. Works great!

Buyer Beware -
I bought one of these about a year ago and it worked just fine for my natural gas floor furnace I just reconditioned. Now, it's starting to get cold again this year and guess what, this thermostat doesn't work!The product only last one year due to the contacts having too high a resistance for a 750mV system to function correctly. Some say the contacts are bi-metal which causes bimetallic corrosion thus causing a thermostat to fail intentionally! I didn't bother the tear the thermostat apart to verify this statement by it seems like something that Honeywell would do to sell more units.I'm now on my 2nd thermostat and it works perfectly but will be interesting to see if it still works next year hence the reason I bought a White-Rodgers (1E78-140) 24V or Millivolt thermostat in case it fails again.Here's what you should know about the White-Rodgers (1E78-140) thermostat assuming your interested in a better alternative ...- Basically, the same dimensions as the Honeywell Home CT53K thermostat- Digital and more accurate than Honeywell Home CT53K thermostat- Cost less than Honeywell Home CT53K thermostat- 24V & 750mV compatible- Heat Only model (R & W terminal connections)- Requires 2 - AAA batteries to power unit *** batteries included ***Hopefully, this information helps someone out.

Accurately controls my Williams Wall Heater
Works just fine with my Williams low tech propane wall heater. Much more accurate than the Williams thermostat that came with the unit. This new one has a wider adjustment gradient which allows for more precise temp setting. Holds room temperature in a narrow 2 degree heat range, this is great for my vacation home where i need to set it at a low temp for when I am not there. This is the millivolt model, which is powered by a thermocouple heated by the pilot light. needs no battery or electricity, great for a vacation home.
