Q: How does this and other stainless steel thermi compare with the older glass vacuum models? I have found generally the glass hold temperature better.

I'm a mechanic and my wide makes my coffee for me every morning at 7 I don't get off work till 8 some days I drink it all others it's still half full on the days it's half full if I leave it in the car overnight I can out and pour a cup of it and it's a drinkable still pretty warm temperature I'd say it doesn't start getting cold until 12pm the next day so in my opinion this is the best thermos you can get in stainless steel I've never used the old glass vacuum ones but this one definitely vacuums because sometimes my wife can't open the tip and brings it to me and she's not a weak woman so overall I say it's worth every penny I paid for it

No, it did not make my coffee taste different. I found this thermos to be much bigger than what I needed. I would not call it a mini thermos. This holds about 1/2 gallon. I needed about a quart. That is my fault for ordering one that was too big. And it did not keep my coffee any hotter than the next average thermos would. I now have no use for this thermos.
