Are 6505a the large size? my dentist recommends large and i can only buy small or medium in the store.

These are large. We just finished our smaller size ... and LOVE these. After 6 months of the smaller sized ... the hygenist raved about the improvement. The larger size doesn't bend as easily, and makes them much easier to use.

I don't know that they are better. If you floss properly, you get into the curve where the tooth meets the gum, not just between the teeth. However, these are a good substitute when you are on the go or if like me you floss twice a day and want a quick method once a day.

They are too fat to get between the teeth themselves unless you have wider gaps between your teeth. They cannot get out something stuck between your teeth. I use both these and floss.
