An Absolute Must-Have!!!!
This absolutely beautifully written account of the incredible Bl. Imelda was SUCH a game-changer in my 2nd grade classroom of soon-to-be first communicants!! I cannot recommend Mary Fabyan Windeatt's books enough. Whether you are a teacher or parent of children of ANY age, or even just for YOU, you NEED this book. Life-changing. There is nothing like hearing a 7-year-old say, "I want to love Jesus in the Eucharist as much as Imelda did!" 😭❤ *crying*

Exciting Find!
I was looking for more ways to help prepare my daughter for her First Holy Communion, make this time special, and convey to her the importance of the sacrament. We started at Easter by putting this book in her Easter basket. The book is written in a way that was really interesting to her, had some drawings to keep the attention of earlier readers, and introduced her to a new saint in a way that makes that saint very approachable for her. It also gives kids a nice picture of life during Imelda's time. My daughter is an advanced reader, so some kids may need help reading this, but we read it together anyway so that we could talk about things in the book as we read.

ST IMELDA
My Mother's name was "Anne Imelda Maloney McKeever". She had great devotion to St. Imelda and to the Sacrament of the Eucharist (Holy Communion). My Mom received Communion at least once a week for the entire 95 years of her life. It has been said: "You are what you eat". In consuming the Body and Blood of Jesus over and over again, my Mom grew into the image of Our Lord and God...a loving, compassionate, holy woman. Thank you for offering this lovely book to us.

Great book to read with your first communicant
This book is probably a 3rd/4th grade reading level. Even though he could have read it himself, I read it to my son the year he was making his first communion. It was a wonderful way to solidify and enhance all that he had been learning about the eucharist. And it gave us one-on-one time. It also brought up questions he had and allowed me to teach him more, which I think has enriched his faith. I don't think he'll ever forget that the eucharist is the real body and blood of Jesus and this book helps to solidify that.

A story book
I bought two of these books for my twin 7 1/2 yr old twin grandsons preparing for their First Communion! It was not at all what I thought it would be and I’ll save the books until they are 10 yrs old or more. I thought it was a preparatory type book not at story. Maybe I misinterpreted it

Wonderful book! This book details a little child's devotion ...
Wonderful book! This book details a little child's devotion to The Eucharist in such detail and with so much beauty that any adult or child will be inspired to grow closer to Christ in the Eucharist. A must have for First Communicants, and converts. Great Gift!

Great book about the saint
Great book about the saint, thought the saint's story ends very weird. (Spoiler: At her very first communion, she dies. Huh?)
