This is the first and only complete guide to the techniques and design possibilities of concrete in your kitchen and bath. Countertops made of custom formed, colored and finished concrete can look like marble, granite, glass or sculpture - the look is limited only by the imagination.

Based on one project and..
This books seems to be written for someone with significant resources, in which case you would not even DIY.I was expecting something like you would see in Create TV or an article in Handyman, its not.. this book is based on one project and calls for building huge re bar-laden 2-3 inch concrete slabs.I was expecting something different, maybe thinner too, again like a more like a better informed version of projects you can see on DIY TV shows.Honestly, I would know how to build and polish huge concrete slabs full of rebar.. the point is that this would be for a counter top, that that kind of concrete doesn't make sense, unless again, you have the money to buy very strong cabinets, and possibly re-inforce your house if its wood (odds are most houses would handle the distributed weight, but the excessive weight of a project similar to the book is mentioned as a concern on the book)I can't imagine, my particle-board cabinets would handle the weight of the massive slabs the author is suggesting to build... this book is more for fancy art-statement stuff.I mean if that is what you are looking for then this book is 5 stars. I doubt most of us are looking for that.
