Great pencils. The red lead is more orange than ...
Bought these for my husband off his wish list. Great pencils. The red lead is more orange than red, though. Would have preferred a more true red. But the leads themselves are a nice quality, smooth writing. We are having a little trouble figuring out the pencil sharpening part of the pencil. Not sure if that's just user error, or there's some magical trick to using it that the Great Gandalf hasn't shared with us yet.

The red is not RED, and the black is not BLACK, but graphite, which is not the same thing.
The lead holders are light, and cheap feeling. But the main problems is that the red leads are not red, but orange. And the black leads are not black but graphite. There's a difference. I need a solid matte black is in color pencil black, not the shiny gray of graphite. I need to be able to digitally remove the RED, and have a good solid MATTE BLACK for what's left. Disappointed. I will likely return this.

Whenever i hold these it does not have a good wieght to ut either
Well i first opened the pencils and the first thing i noticed was there is no white pencil as seen in the picture... it is actaully a red one. I started opening the lead refil kit and i dropped a piece of led and it broke... wow. I started writing with the black graphite and that broke, so why not sharoen it? It tried to sharpen it and there is barley any progress. Really? Just wow! Whenever i hold these it does not have a good wieght to ut either.. i mean if you want to ask me, these pencils seem pretty disposable which means i will through them away after a few tries with it. Its good with shading though. If it had a good sharpener, metal body, durable this would be a 5 star rating.

Cheap and unreliable.
Why these suck:Gravity fed, which means that when you click the top they depend on gravity to extend. This is unreliable at best and leads to shaking the pencils to get the lead to push out.Once you do get the lead out it will often slip back into the container when writing.Cheap plastic everything. Conclusion:Do yourself a favor, spend a little extra and buy a push feed mechanical pencil. Get one that's metal because they feel awesome. And don't lend it to your friend who thinks it's just an average pencil. It's not. It's special. It's your baby.

Okay, not great
Pencils are cheap feeling plastic. The gripper that holds the lead isn't able to hold the colored leads well enough so if you press with much force they'll recede back into the pencils. The redeeming qualities are a lead type indicator ring (not very useful to me) and it has a mechanism like mechanical pencils where every push of the button meters a specific amount of lead.

Mightier than teh sword, not these..
Received the items, and gave them the test. Unfortunately the barrels of these pencils are made of a cheap plastic. They do not hold/grip the lead well, and the lead itself is a bit on the waxy side.

Lead Slips out on its own
On one of the pencils the red lead slips out without depressing the end of the pencil. Poor quality.

Only if you are broke
The pencil seems very cheaply made but I will keep them as back up for my better pencile holder.
