It is more sturdy than floral oasis, but very light weight. If it is wedged into a vase it will hold skewers erect with some weight on them.

So is this for faux floral and will it crumble once I stick faux stems in?

this is for fresh flowers. you soak it in water and place the stems in it. it is not useful for faux floral.
