OTTERBOX COMMUTER SERIES Case for Samsung Galaxy S7 Edge - Retail Packaging - BLACK

For my past few Samsung Galaxy phones I've used OtterBox cases and I have always been impressed with the quality of the build and protection they offer. This case has been especially helpful with my Edge because it gives enough bulk to the phone that I'm not accidentally touching the edges of the screen all the time. It has an attractive design to it, complementing my Edge well.I don't drop my phones often, but it's comforting to know that when it does happen my case will take the brunt of the damage from any falls.The soft portion of the case isn't rubberised like some cases I've looked through, so I can slide it into my pocket or a jacket without it hanging up or pulling my pockets inside out. The hard portion of the case has a slight texture to it which hasn't shown any sign of wear in the month and a half that I've had it so far.My only complaint (and this was the same in my Galaxy S5 case) is that the soft portion of the case at the bottom tends to slowly become loose over the ports. With this current case it is barely noticeable so far, just a slight scallop look to the lower edge of the soft case. With my previous case it had grown far more pronounced over the year and a half that I had it.

This case has protected my Galaxy S7 Edge perfectly in a handful of minor drops/falls to the ground. It's way, way better than the Otterbox Symmetry case I had on my Galaxy S6 Edge. Someone dropped that phone down a flight of stairs, and the phone cracks on both sides and even bent slightly. I had to file an insurance claim and wound up receiving a replacement S6 Edge.Back to this Otterbox Commuter for my S7 Edge... another benefit that I love about it is that it is easy to take off and to put back on, securely. Anyone with a Gear VR knows how great a benefit this is. It's also a benefit for another reason... that's not exactly a positive thing.This case being thicker than a Symmetry case would be means that the phone overheats much more easily even with its overheating protection system. If using the phone in direct sunlight for just a few minutes, it's overheating. If I'm just outside in the warm/hot summer air, and in the shade or in my car charging the phone... I need to take the case offi suppose I'll wrap this up by saying this case is probably the best one out there for this phone.

First things first, I like this case. I would recommend it to anyone looking to purchase a case for the S7 Edge. That being said, it is not my favorite case. That would go to the Speck CandyShell Grip due to its better buttons, grip, and protection. The reason I got this case was because the other case was prone to peeling, scratching, and cracking, so I decided to try something else. I picked this over the Spigen Hybrid case as I had seen many pictures of the bumper cracking. Something I wish this case had was a hard PC bumper around the phone for added protection, as impact in the soft TPU sections of the case could crack the screen glass. Also, I wish this case was easier to put on, even after following the given directions, it doesn't feel quite right. The buttons also feel more on the mushy side, and it is somewhat slippery.Note: I do not use this case with a screen protector, and the case is compatible with my PopSocket.

I have had OtterBoxes on my phones for at least 5 years, and I love them! It's a snug fit on my phone, but not so snug that it's hard to remove the case. The buttons are easy to press, and the edges of the case do not get in the way of the "Edge phone functions" or the fingerprint reader. The cutouts for the speakers, headphone jacks, etc are perfect. I love the dustcovers for the headphone and charging ports. I do not yet have a screen protector for the phone, so I can't say whether or not it causes them to peel up around the edges. Another thing I like is that I can turn the phone on its face, and the lip of the case is raised to where the screen does not touch the flat surface below it. The case does add a bit of weight to the phone, but still keeps it slim, and not so bulky.

This case fits my galaxy s7 edge pretty well. The only complaint that I have is that there are creases all over the soft shell, which makes me think that it was a returned unit. The case was roughed up, but that's likely because the phone is has been out for awhile and they hvent made any new cases in awhile. I've had an otterbox symmetry for the past 3 years and I found that this commuter case was much harder to put on. There is a lip from the soft shell that hangs out at the bottom on the phone and I'm worried that it will rip after using it for awhile.

I would recommend this case for anyone, unless you work in a dirty environment then I'd recommend the Defender instead of the Commuter. This case is surprisingly slim, it doesn't make the phone feel bulky at all, to me at least, but it still feels really durable at the same time. As long as your phone doesn't land screen down on a non perfectly flat surface (which would be bad with basically any case), I wouldn't be worried about my phone getting damaged with this case on. Only have it 4 stars because since the rubber is kinda thick on the port cover flaps, it causes the flap to push kinda hard against your charger/headphone cable. But that should loosen up over time.

Very good phone case was trying not to spend too much and get the defender series . I bought 2 cases one for me first and another one for a family member ,nothings wrong with this phone case of course phone cases and accessories will break after 2 years they get old like old cars and you gotta fix them , in order for these good cases to last long you cant be clumsy, and you have to be responsible and take care of things ,dont leave it on the stairs or by the jacuzzi or pool or by the curb on the street and everything will be ok. Just mentioning the factors and truth.Very good case I love it!!!! but I know where to come when I need a good Quality Samsung case !!

Galaxy S7 Edge case, black commuter series, after 3 months rubber at the lower edge (below the turn on button) separated. I tried to glue it but didn't work. I will call Otter Support and see if they will replace it for me. I wouldn't buy this unit and not recommend to anybody. This is not Otter quality that I am used to. It's cheaply made unit.

Good case

its a great case with a slim design, but the hard plastic backing could be a lot better and more scratch resistant. If it had the rubber grip like the defender series it would have been perfect and I also find it is quite slippery without the gripped back which I don't like much prefer if they came out with a commuter series with the gripped back and same design as the defender just without that screen cover which looses the phones capability of typing. there is a way to remove it on the defender but you may have a loose phone inside and I just don't want to take that risk and many other people feel like its a lot of risk and voids warranty, so maybe otterbox just needs to create that defender series without a screen protector I would definitely prefer the defender without a screen protector hands down.

great product for Samsung S7.went with a liquid screen protector instead of the one provided by otterbox. the combo works perfectly.OtterBox stuff has always been good for me.

The case itself is pretty nice, slim and light. The only issue is that if you are using a screen protector it will tend to peel it off with its edges, I fixed that by using a Dremel tool to make the inner edges dull, works perfectly fine after this. 4 stars because I had to modify it.

I have always loved OtterBox products. They are simple in design and features, protect your phone well and look decent. I wouldn't call them the sexiest case but definitely better than a lifeproof case, and knowing your phone is well protected against life's accidents is real comfort
