All our green beans are cup-tested by sample before we commit to purchase, they must meet our rigid Blue Mountain coffee standards and expectations. Just because coffee is grown in the Blue Mountains doesn't mean its good Blue Mountain coffee! We vacuum pack the beans immediately after roasting to seal in the aroma and extend the life of the coffee, maintaining freshness. Buying whole bean coffee and grinding only what is needed for each brew is definitely the best way to preserve freshness, as the aroma is trapped within the beans.

Loved it so much I always looked for it at ...
I served in the U.S. Coast Guard for 33 years, I retired as a Chief Petty Officer. One day along time ago I was hand picked to go round about through Jamaica. A buddy and I was with me on this mission. He suggested to purchase a few pounds, which I did. Loved it so much I always looked for it at coffee houses around the U.S. Well, Starbucks has a pre-Christmas sale in October/November. I got the last 3 pounds of at a local Starbucks of Blue Mountain! I asked my son if he knew any place that sold Blue Mountain, he said Amazon should sell it, they did. The rest is history! As soon as I get low on my stash I will buy from Amazon or some other coffee bean wholesaler! I drink it plain as an excellent coffee should be drunk. I can taste the bean. It is not harsh coffee, but not too light either. I wish others would enjoy Jamaican Blue Mountain as I do. Thanks Amazon for the Jamaican Blue Mountain supply!!!

For The Price, It Has To Be A Special Occasion
I've purchased a number of 1 pound bags of this coffee not only for myself, but for gifts. It has been my favorite for years as I have tried many others. Great flavor, very smooth, and no bitterness. I wish it were more affordable to make as my daily coffee, but there are just those days that I need to treat myself and this order was one of those times.

Jamaican Blue Like the Old Days!
The original JBM was wild and collected by boat. There were only a few hundred pounds sold world wide and it cost a fortune. If you get JBM, it's not the original. However, I heard about some clever fellow, who cultivated those wild seeds in Jamaica so it grows in the same conditions. They used to sell this cultivated JBM in the 80's, back in the "pure" days of coffee. I bought it then and thought it was the best coffee I'd ever tasted. So I ordered a couple of pounds of this, and sure enough, it's exactly the same old delicious JBM I used to get in the 80's. You also don't need many beans. We use less than a small scoop per cup. It's still very strong, flavorful, yet seems to be smooth and succulent. It's VERY expensive, just like a world class fine wine. BTW, the cute burlap bag opens to a vacuum sealed, zip lock reusable bag, that has a one-way air valve; it only lets the air out. If you agree with my review you won't be disappointed.

Brings back memories of my honeymoon in Jamaica.
Honeymooned in Jamaica, the resort we stayed at served only Jamaica Blue Mountain. Hadn't had it before, but once we got home we quickly realized the stuff must be laced with heroin or cocaine or something cause we needed more. Every time I open this bag to scoop some beans I spend a moment just smelling them. It makes me feel like a druggy, but it is what it is. Makes an excellent cup of coffee. Due to the price we only buy bags for special occasions, but in our case that just makes it even better when we do get to spend a week or so going through one. This stuff tastes just how I remember it tasting in Jamaica. Having that moment of nostalgia for breakfast is worth the high price to us.

Not my favorite Coffee for the money
The coffee does not have the strong scent and creamy feel. It did tasted very silky and smooth. I would not say it is bad coffee just a different taste. For the coffee it self I would give it four star. However in consideration of the price, 3 star will reflect the real value.

Jamacian Coffee
I took a trip to Jamaica in 1983 and had my first cup of Blue Mountain coffee. I was hooked! Finding Jamaican Blue Mountain coffee in the states was difficult to say the least. With each trip I brought home a couple pounds from Jamaica. Thanks to the internet and Amazon I have finally found the Blue Mountain coffee I have been searching for. This brand is the real deal! And every penny is worth the cost!

So average considering the legend.... Not worth it!
I’m into coffee, I have a good machine with PID control, I also have a quality grinder and I’m mindful about tamping and quality of water...I noted a smooth taste, but considering the legend of blue mountain, overall I found this fairly average.Unfortunately like most coffee no roasted on date could be found so to be fair this could be pretty old! Overall the flavour profile seemed flat and lacking complexity.Due to fact I can buy GREAT coffee at a fraction and produce far superior coffee consistently, I won’t be buying this again.I had to find out! Would love to get my hands on some freshly roasted Blue Mountain coffee beans and have another go!!!!

Pricey but pretty good.
One of my favourite beans, though being blue mountain it’s fairly expensive. Depending on your general palette it might not be the kind of thing you go for, I don’t drink coffee black so I can’t vouch for much there. It’s not a really bitter brew but if you’re not familiar with coffee you are probably better off getting some cheaper beans. The beans I got were of a mixed roast, so there were some fairly lighter coloured beans and then there were some darker colour beans. This means the roasts are irregular and they’re probably just chucking them all into one big batch. Like another review, some beans were over-roasted yes.

Expensive but worth it
First, it's worth acknowledging that this is expensive coffee. There's no getting around it and that high price is due to both quality and rarity. To qualify as genuine JBM the bean must originate in the Jamaican Blue mountains between the altitudes of two and five thousand feet. Its a thin strip of land that has a limited output which makes JBM one of the world's rarest coffees. That is reflected in the pricing. That aside this is a genuinely unique and lovely drink with a really well-balanced flavour and medium acidity. You can find cocoa notes in a mildly sweet, medium strength cup. It's an essential part of my morning routine.Coffer Roasters treatment of the bean is great. I have never received a bag ruined by overroasting, something I can't say for other suppliers.I prepare my coffee using either an aeropress or pour over methods and this bean suits both methods.Four stars, one knocked off for the understandably high price.

Almost a year old in a defective vacuum pack.
This packets one way breather valve was defective and sell by date was just valid. I don't know of course for sure that this valve may have been defective for almost a whole year but I suspect it was. There was two bar codes one on top of the other which looked aged. Considering the price of this product as being premium I expected to be not disappointed. Above the vacuum sealer strip there were trapped beans not actually in the packet so quality control was not matching the price of this product. I would have sent it straight back but my partner as a surprise opened and gave me a cup. I hope the powers that be read this and have a comment, but I know sometimes things go wrong with everything and anything.

What a huge disappointment
I ordered this as a huge treat for myself because I have been dreaming of holidays past during lockdown. I remembered how I loved the Blue Mountain coffee whilst on holiday in Jamaica. This was nothing like my memory. It has very little flavour or aroma. It is weak and quite simply disappointing. I will not be buying this again.
