Total Confidence in Flying
Your browser does not support HTML5 video. I have owned several drones in the past but this is my first advanced drone with GPS and 4K video. So far, I have not been disappointed. The GPS gives you unparalleled control. Even beginners should have immediate confidence flying this drone. It has really been a blast to send it out far into the sky without having the anxiety of losing contact. I even had enough confidence to fly a drone at night for the very first time. With one press of a button (Return to Home) it will automatically return to almost exactly where it took off. This feature will also automatically trigger upon loss of signal or detection of low battery. Thankfully, I never had to test out these fail-safe features but it is reassuring to have. The drone has two speeds of operation that allows easy operation for beginners as well as more advanced operators. It responds well to the controller and movements are precise. .The range is stated at at a whopping 2600 ft. I have yet to test out the outer limits of the drone, but it did go far enough that it was difficult to see in the sky. I never lost signal and the video feed never dropped. The video quality is superb and can be recorded both on your phone as well as on a microSD card (has to be class 10 or faster). Note: 4K video is only recorded only on the memory card. Unlike some drones, the camera angle is adjustable from the controller even during flight. You can have the camera view what is directly ahead or what is directly below (and anything in between). It is a complete package which includes a very nice padded case that holds the folded drone, controller, and all the cables and accessories. Extra propellers are included. My only wish is that it came with an extra battery but the included battery is a very healthy 3600maH which gives you 26 minutes of flight time. The controller is comfortable in the hand and has an adjustable holder for any smartphone. A smartphone app is required if you want to access some of the more advanced features of the drone such as adjusting the maximum distance and attitude. One of the coolest features is setting waypoints on the map and having the drove follow the points that you set. The points of interest feature will send the drone circling around a certain point with the camera taking a 360 degree video of the center. In follow me mode, the drone will keep you in the field of view and follow your movements. Finally, the hand gestures seem to be more of a gimmick but they do work. Overall just a very well engineered drone.

Quality Drone at a reasonable price
Your browser does not support HTML5 video. The drone market has gotten very competitive, which seems to be a great thing for us consumers! This is the second drone that I have owned. The first being basically a toy in comparison to this. This drone seems to be a direct competition to the higher prices DJI drones. This thing sports a 4K camera, but realistically this is the one area that the higher priced drones have an advantage. The quality of the photos is pretty good, but video is let down by the 15 fps. I think I would have preferred at least 30 fps at a lower resolution. For me that’s the only thing that I was slightly disappointed in. For my purpose it’s not a big deal, as I primarily use this drone to for scouting out locations. If you are looking at this drone mainly for creating high quality 4k video, then you may want to look at a more expensive drone. So, with the cons out of the way, lets move onto the pros. First is the flight time being excellent! I don’t know if its exactly 26 min, but its certainly seemed like I was flying it forever. The next thing that really makes this drone stand out, is the app and all the features that the drone comes with. These are all the same features that your going to be paying top dollar for with the other drone manufacturers. Overall, this feels like a very well made and quality drone, I can tell you from experience that it can take a couple of crashes with no problems lol! Also a tip, join the Snaptain voice out club, the customer support is great!

A good start in the world of photography drones.
Overall, the design of the quadcopter itself is pretty good for a fixed camera quadcopter. It has some nice features and is very stable. The onboard processor is fast enough to keep it stationary and the GPS module, compass, barometric pressure sensor and gyro are all good enough to handle changes in wind direction, etc and keep it stationary. The fixed camera (meaning that it is not on a gyroscopically balanced gimbal) can be tilted from the remote from straight out horizontal to straight down. The resolution of the pictures is very good. In fact, most folks will probably have to select 1080p for shooting video. The 4K looks awesome. But, for uploading, 4K is slow and problematic.About the stability, this drone is as stable as any I have flown. In fact, the processors work so quickly that not even sudden gusts of wind can cause it to move from it's fixed GPS location. And, it doesn't drift off course like some do, either. I have had problems with some drones doing what I call the TBE or 'toilet bowl effect' which is a swirling motion that just gets worse and worse, no matter what you do to try and correct it. This one is as steady as a rock. The app works very well. You get both a great FPV (within range) and you can control the drone with your phone (if that's your thing) within a reasonable range. I have always preferred a physical controller. Because the actual antennas for the controller are inside the controller (and not in the things you fold out and point) you should be conservative on the distances you fly. But, when you think about it, here in the US, it's illegal to fly beyond the line of sight anyway. You would lose sight of this drone LONG before you reached the listed range capability. Just don't test it.The ESC's and brushless motors seem to be perfectly matched. The motors are very smooth, the props are reasonably quiet. There is no chatter or hum, not even on rapid upshots or aggressive aerobatic maneuvers. The drones responses to the control commands are smooth, and appropriate to the degree or speed of stick movement. This drone is not a competition FPV flyer (too big for that). But, it handles very well and is capable of things like pirouettes, corkscrews, strafing, practically anything that does not require nose up climbs or inversions. This drone, primary designed as an aerial photography platform, does very well on calm days. The fixed camera is not the most ideal on windy days, but still gets great stills and video, because of the quads excellent gyro and super fast processors which do a pretty decent job of keeping the quadcopter stationary or stable in it's flight path. For a drone at this price point, the maker has chosen to focus on the things that make this drone an excellent flyer and decent platform for the budding aerial photographer. They did not go half heartedly into a lot of features that could only be purchased at a much greater cost. So, in my somewhat professional opinion, this drone is a good purchase and worthy of a five star rating.
