I needed a terrarium that is water tight so I could plant ferns and moss. It is also acting as a toad abode for an injured toad I’ve been rehabilitating. The glass top comes off for planting, but then sits snug on the base. This is well made, and the metal base has a plastic liner for extra water tightness. It was easy to set up and looks so nice on my desk. Definitely reccommend.

I did a lot of research on terrariums and plant enclosures before purchasing this, and chose this particular item for several reasons. One, the bottom of the terrarium is metal and comes with a plastic tray insert. This both makes the terrarium safe to lift by holding on to the bottom (no worry about weight breaking any glass) but also the plastic tray contains water and keeps it from leaking or corroding the metal. The metal base is separate from the glass "house" top and the two fit together easily. This made it very easy to fill and plant the terrarium and then add the glass house back on top; no weird maneuvering with tongs or funnels to get things looking nice. It's also very easy to remove the top to make adjustments. The hinged door on the top is nice and I like the little stand that can be used to prop it open if so desired. Overall this item is well constructed, very attractive to the eye, and easy to set up.

Super cute! I have a silly question/ does the plastic tray stay inside or do I take it out before planting? There are no instructions and I’m a super beginner. Very sturdy, only reason for 4 stars is because there is a little crack in the glass.

Got it as a gift for a friend and she loves it. Sturdy base, top comes off easily and fits well on base. Glass top is well made and has a hinged hatch with a kick stand to hold it open for venting and watering. Packed super well with glass in separate foam. I'm going to order one or two for myself. Great for succulents and smaller plants.

This is a pretty terrarium. Well made. I just wish it was larger.

First off, I read a LOT of reviews about similar products. All of them had the same major flaw, they were not sealed and did not old water. The reason I bought this one was because it came with a tray insert. The second complaint about other similar terrariums was that they were not glass, were ill made or cheaply made and wonky. This one as actual glass panes, it is well made, the little door opens and closes with no problems, everything lines up as it should. I absolutely love it! Only thing I wish is that they made a larger one! I really love it!

The study of moss is fascinating. Put some moss from outside in this container. Very attractive.
