Excellent Missionary Adventure for All Ages
After looking long and hard for an accurate and God-honoring missionary biography suitable for younger ages, I am grateful to have stumbled upon this Little Light's series. The pictures are detailed enough to keep the attention of my 2 and 3 year olds' with only 4-6 sentences per 2-spread page. Above each colorful 2-page picture there is also a one-sentence summary in case your child is a "quick flipper". =) There is certainly room for explanation of more intricate details of these missionary's lives since the language is child-friendly, but not "dumbed down" to lose the depth and reality of the battles won for Christ. I do really like as well that the stories begin in the missionary's childhood or young teenagehood and then go through their lives from there. This Martin Luther book is 12 pages long and hits the large milestones of Luther's life. This one has quickly become a household favorite and we look forward to purchasing the entire 8 book series, especially for only $8 a book. I HIGHLY recommend these books for any home, church or public library.

The Best of MacKenzie's Little Lights Biographies
We have purchased every one of Catherine MacKenzie's Little Lights biographies. I read them regularly with my 5 year old daughter, easily able to get through a single book in a night, in approximately 10-15 minutes, including answering questions.Martin Luther's biography is in my opinion the best of the series. She does a good job of telling the story in a way that my 5 year old daughter can understand. The gospel is clear, and the story has led to so many good conversations about the Bible, about justification by faith, about obeying God's Word, and about the importance of reading and believing the Bible.MacKenzie is content to tell the story of Martin Luther with some very basic commentary. Expect and prepare, as a parent, to have great conversations following the reading of this book. It is one my daughter requests over and over again.

Well done.
My 4 year old daughter understands the book and can retell the story now. It is not overly simplistic but at the same time accessible.

A prize sticker on the inside cover which I could not take off without causing damage. I wanted to give as a gift. The sticker was not mentioned when I ordered it.
