Q: Can it be used for hot water?

I haven't tried putting hot water in one of these glasses. I use them only for cold or iced drinks.

Q: I've seen multiple reviews of the base of the glasses falling off. Are the sides too thin to support the weight of the base?

I bought these glasses as a gift for my daughter. She is very happy with them, and said they have a nice weight to them and look more expensive in person. She doesn’t think there is an issue with the sides being too thin.
