Great shock for a Jeep Wrangler TJ!
Replaced my well worn out shocks on my 2006 TJ Rubicon with the RS5000x. Sure, you can spend more on shocks. But why? The Ranchos perform very well on the TJ. Let's face it, the TJ will never ride like a new truck, or even a new JL. But it can and should ride as nice as possible. The Rancho shocks will do the trick. Tip: I've read about the crappy factory paint on the Ranchos, and I'm not a fan of white. Before installing, I hit them with several light coats of matte black spray paint.

Doesn’t fit.
The shocks do not fit. Im installing the RS 55128 shocks on the front. But I can’t fit the shock into the tower. The plastic retainer loop has not been removed. But I’m still trying to compress the shock to fit. Shouldn’t it already fit into the tower then I simply cut the plastic retainer loop so it simply expands? Right now it’s about 7-8 inches too long (again this is with the plastic retainer loop intact) and I can’t compress it that far to fit. It almost looks like the plastic loop was added at the extended length. Will have to return.See picture which shows the length of the shock. I’ve marked the upper and lower bracket of the tower. Again it doesn’t fit and I’m unable to compress it that far to fit.

Great Shock, poor packaging
Too bad, this is a great shock, but both shocks came with the boxes open at the top. One had the sticker crumpled and one box was missing a zip tie. Interesting, because a few days earlier I received a Rancho stabilizer and the box was open and the contents looked haphazardly packaged. Get it together.

Nice and tight but still well mannered for my commutes
Replace my boring Gabriel aftermarket shocks with these. The ride is perfect for me. Nice and tight but still well mannered for my commutes around town. I'm now a fan of the X series. I drive a 2001 Jeep Wrangler that's mostly stock.

Came in on time, installed in less than an hour, great product and purchase. It woudl be nice if they included the new bottom bolts, but I anticipated that.

Fit Jeep XJ
Shipping isn't great, they came scratched. Ride better then stock blown shocks at 355k km. Should probably spend a bit more money but if you can't these are good enough.

Manques des pièces…
Commandé pour Jeep TJ 97 sans lift.Livré dans les boîtes d’origines, de façon séparée, à deux jours d’intervalle…emballage médiocre et boîtes abîmées (photo). Heureusement, c’est pas très fragile. Manque un écrou dans chaque paquet sur la photo. Manque aussi un sticker et une tie-rap. Riens de dramatique, sauf que si Rancho est pas capable de fournir toutes les 11 pièces nécessaires à l’installation, on se demande le genre de contrôle de qualité qu’ils ont pour leur produits….
