These strings are fabulous!
My guitar skills run somewhere between campfire guitarist and whatever is a little better than that. I play in spurts, so my guitar may hang on the wall for months at a time without playing, but the coating on the strings keeps them fresh for a very long time. I only have to change out every six to eight months. The guitar sounds really nice with them...a good full sound without being too bright. They stay in tune after a few initial stretches and re-tunes. The coatings also make them easy to play. They cost a little more than some sets, but I change them a lot less than I do with uncoated strings, so the extra cost is worth the trouble, IMO.

Smooth Tone and Lasting Durability – Elixir 6-String Guitar Strings are a Game Changer!
I’ve been using Elixir 6-string guitar strings for a few months now, and I’m truly impressed with the overall performance. As a musician, the quality of my strings is crucial to the sound and feel of my guitar, and these strings have exceeded my expectations in every way.Sound Quality: Right out of the package, these strings produce a bright, clear tone with great sustain. Whether I’m playing clean acoustic chords or rocking out on my electric guitar, the sound is consistent and rich. The clarity of each note is noticeably better than other strings I’ve used, and they hold their tone for a long time.Durability: The standout feature of Elixir strings is their durability. They last far longer than traditional strings without losing their crispness or becoming dull. I’ve been playing regularly, and the strings still feel fresh and responsive. The coating on the strings really helps protect against corrosion, dirt, and grime, which is a huge plus if you play often.

Better than the strings that were on it new…
I have used Elixir strings before. They always have a great feel and last a good long time. However, in my experience they have sounded great on some guitars and not so much on others. For example if your guitar has an inherently darker tone, (say an acoustic with mahogany back and sides) Elixer will brighten the tone up just a little bit to give a more full tone. But if you have some that is already bright Elixirs will, in my experience, push that brightness over the top. Between the enhanced silence and screechy high end it can be unbeatable. Now, in this case, I purchased a set for my 8-string baritone Guild. There are a few 8-string baris out there. Taylor, Guild, Ibanez, Alvarez, etc.. I can only speak about my experience with my Guild, which has been surprisingly very, very good.I had initially anticipated that the strings would be overly shimmery and too thin-toned for a baritone, but the opposite was true. These elixir strings actually really opened up the bottom end AND brightened the high B string enough to let it sing. The original strings really emphasized the octave A and D strings, these Elixirs are much better balanced. Now with 8-string baritone acoustics I have found that Elixir makes a set, D’Addario makes a set, and anything else would have to be a custom set made string by string, at least as far as i have been able to find.In my opinion, this Elixir set is the best option of them all. One caveat though is that they are sort of expensive but there are more strings, they are longer, and they are coated. So it all adds up on the end.

Excellent strings
I’ve been using these on my acoustic guitars for 15+ years. Feel great, hold up great, and sound great. Can’t beat them especially for the value. Highly recommend

Professionally Made
Wonderful strings. They have a soft touch to them and they resonate a great tone. These are some of the best strings made for a 12 string guitar when you really want a quality sound.

disappointed with shipping and handling but not the strings
I opened the shipping box (unscathed) and the string box (pack of 3) was wrapped in some dubvious repackaging wrap and smashed. It looked like it had been previously opened so I had to individually check each string set for proper guage, condition, etc. They appear to be all there and in proper condition so that's all I can say on the matter of shipping and handling.I don't know the shelf life or how to tell if they are fresh. I've used these strings many times and appreciate the quality and sound on various Martins, Gibson, and Breedlove both unplugged and plugged-in to acoustic amps, etc. I'm not sure if the strings I use on a HD-28 would sound just as great on any guitar. I've found that individual guitars sound different and react to guage as well as materials used so I can't give you a guarantee that these are the best you can buy. I have found better sounding strings for each individual guitars I own, but these are great "general/overall" strings that sound great and do not need replacing near as often. I don't gig or teach. I play almost daily for at least a half-hour (if not 2 or 3) but I keep 4 guitars out of their case and handy so the more guitars I own and strung-up the less those strings get played. I try to keep a few sets on the shelf. They are dependable. If your in search of the best guitar strings, good luck, I've gone down that rabbit hole (been stuck at intermediate level for over 50 years) , and you'll find as I have that its like finding the best sounding acoustic guitar, your opinion of how something sounds matters not.
