These are great boots so far
These are great boots so far. I have been wearing these for two weeks now, and I'm enjoying them thoroughly. The actual look and design of these boots is very mean and rugged. Very well made, good stitching, looks like it's going to last.Side zipper is a nice feature. The zipper feels tough and durable. It's very nice to have after a long night of walking on concrete and asphalt where untying your boots just feels like too much effort at the moment.Break in period was relatively short (Six days of constantly walking at work). However it was a bit painful. I might recommend breaking these in at home before wearing them on duty. The insoles felt good immediately, but the sides of the boot seemed to dig in right at the ankle. A bit painful but as the break in period was short so it doesn't really matter. The tread on these boots is where they really shine. They really give you just an awesome grip on the ground. I feel like I could comfortably walk up a 70° incline in these bad boys. No boot I have ever worn comes close in this department. The ICS system is incredibly comfortable. I really don't feel any difference in the comfort settings, so I feel that's just a clever gimmick to seem cool and innovative. It's still incredibly comfortable either way, so I really don't care if it isn't actually adjustable. The front of the sole also had a gel worked into it for added comfort. The only real con I have is that the heel rides too high for my personal tastes. This is just a personal preference, and it was easily fixed. I took the insoles out of the old pair of shoes I had, cut them in half, and glued the front half to the Bates insoles. Now I feel like I'm walking on more of a flat surface which is how I like it.All in all I'm very pleased after my initial two weelks. I can't speak to longevity yet, but if I have any issues with this in the coming months I'll be sure to update my review accordingly.

"the best tactical boots I've ever worn"
Wow, these truly are the best pair of tactical boots I've ever worn and I've worn quite a few brands from Haix Black Eagle to Magnum. These are extremely comfortable and very durable. I love the firm fit, the design of the insole with the adjustable gel heel. I own numerous pairs of footwear as I do quite a lot of sport (soccer, baseball, ball hockey, and marathon) and I was surprised when I first put these on. They were the most comfortable tactical boot I've ever worn! In fact, they were more comfortable than my marathon shoes (although I doubt I'd run a marathon in any boot). My feet never overheat on hot days and never freeze on cold days. I've worn them quite a lot and they've yet to crack. I'd like to get another pair of Bates Delta Side Zip in black again and one in desert. I love this boot!!

My third pair and I would chose them again
These are comfortable and fit me well. I am a 10 womens more or less...these were wide enough, but not too wide and the sole feels sturdy. They do not last as long as a Danner Boot, for example, but the break-in period is very short and once they are broken in they are really a good shoe. I wear them for work and for around town. I have SuperFeet insoles, which make them even more comfortable. I would suggest them to anyone but they are probably better for women just because we are somewhat easier on our shoes and these are not exactly prime quality.

UPDATE 01/19/2024
UPDATE (USED SINCE MARCH 2022)Almost 2 years in these boots. It's a comfortable boot and decent overall. However, the rips in the stitches have been coming apart for over a year now.As you can see in the photos the logo on the heel of the right boot has popped out from the top. The inner stitches on the right boot does not align with the left boot and it has been coming apart. I am almost certain water would come through but I didn't have to step in deep water.I work a flock ton of OT and the bottoms/soles have been decent as well and still has a lot of threads left.So my only complaint is the stitches and the inner lining on the back of the heel. That also fell apart.Would I buy these boots again? If itxs on sale, probably.INITIAL REVIEW:These boots are extremely comfortable. Im looking forward tobeeaking them in and making them even more comfortable.I wear 10.5 in 5.11 ATACs, but when I bought Deltas in 10.5, it was too big. I had to go down to 9.5 and now it feels right. The height is good and the lower back and makes it easier to walk. The sole feels snug yet comfortable. Laces are easy to tie and the side zip makes it very easy to put on and off.I will see how the treads wear out and will update as I go!

Better than I believed it would be
I work in a institution and I'm on my feet for 8, sometimes 12, hours in a single day. With these boots and comfort system, I have had great experience with the design of the boot. This is the first pair where I was able to walk up and down stairs, ran and stood without any issues with my feet, knees or back. I recommend these boots for anyone that works on there feet and need a trusty pair when the time comes and wont fail when you need it most. Within the second day these boots did not fail, slip or tore when I needed them the most when it could have cost me my well being at work. Get the right fit and you'll be set for the worst. The only issue that couldn't be avoided was the lasses islets pressing in on my ankles. But nothing a new pair has before breaking them in
