Great gift
Was a present for my dad and it was everything he needed so he can play his card games and keep in touch with his sister's we are both very happy. Good quality delivered fast, thanks Amazon.

issues with item
While the laptop had all the features I needed and wanted, it had issues. First of all it was out of warranty when delivered. The battery was bad so the laptop wouldn't work unless plugged in. The seller said he would send a new battery, BUT he never did. I don't think I would buy from the seller again as they didn't keep their word about sending the replacement part, and they sent an item knowing the warranty had expired. I replaced the battery, but suspect this laptop had been a return that was reformatted and re-sold.The laptop is slow to load and often the start screen freezes. If you do not need an optical drive, I suggest you look for a different model or a different brand of laptop.

Plug & Pay, Baby. Plug & Pay.
Once again, Windows has managed to ruin a perfectly good computer. It's not plug & play anymore, it's plug & pay. The attractive young lady comes on and tries to seduce you into spending more of your hard earned , or ill-gotten, dough. No thanks. When the operating system asks you if you want Windows to micromanage your settings, "Just Say No!" or you'll regret it. This is my experience. As a result, I feel like Windows has hi-jacked my computer and is acting like nothing more than a virus. As a Linux convert and a Google Chrome geek, I only purchased this system because the app that I will be running (for a new product actually) requires it. I just hope IT works.

Battery Issue
I realize I purchased this as refurbished, performing as new. The battery does not charge on its own when plugged in ... unless, I remove the battery first. Then it charges to 100%, then stops charging and slowly the battery dies again. It is not the cord as I have tried two at this point.
