Beautiful & Diverse Dolls
My almost 6 year old niece has been collecting the Disney MagiClip dolls since she was a couple years old. She recently watched Mulan again and asked me if there was a doll for her. To my surprise, I discovered that there was not a Mulan MagiClip doll, nor were there dolls for Jasmine or Pocahontas. We try to keep diversity in her doll collection, so this bothered me. It also reminded me that to get a Tiana MagiClip doll, I finally gave in and paid $25 for a doll that retails for $6 because they were so hard to find.So I started looking for a line of dolls that did have the full ethnic spectrum of Disney Princesses and settled on the Shimmer line (not to be confused with the more expensive Sparkle line). They retail for $9.99 and are $8.88 on Amazon so they are affordable if you're looking to buy several. Plus they fit in a new doll house she got for Christmas. The dolls aren't super fancy and don't have a lot of accessories, but they still very attractive and have beautiful hair. The clothes are just one layer without a lot of ruffles or froufrou stuff, but they are colorful and have enough glitter to make any princess-lover happy. And one thing I didn't notice until she pointed it out was that the dolls don't have high heels. Princesses in practical shoes…amazing.Since they are affordable, I've been buying three at a time and keeping them hidden away for those occasions when some extra comfort or cooperation is needed. So far she has:- Mulan is in a beautifully colored dress and has long black hair- Pocahontas is in a practical short dress with knee-high boots and great hair- Jasmine has the same great hair and a one-piece outfit that doesn't reveal her stomach. It's a little thing but it helps reinforce our household's no-bikini rule now that she is old enough to start to understand it and ask lots of questions. My niece has long, almost black hair, and she noticed the similarities to her own right away. I guess we hadn't done so well in making sure her princess collection was as diverse as her other dolls because she was surprised by this (that some of the princess have hair like hers). Once she had all three, we lined them up to look at their hair and features and talked about what part of the world they were from. Who says princesses can't be educational? Lol.

Hasbro has hit it out of the park!
As a self-proclaimed feminist mom, I couldn't be happier with the way Hasbro is taking over the Disney Princess line. Gone are the days of it appearing that Barbie has dressed up as a specific princess, now these dolls actually look like the characters in their movies. I also feel that these Hasbro princesses are far less "sexy" than the Barbiesque Mattel dolls--while they are all still rather slim, the extra large perky boobs and impossibly narrow waists are a thing of the past. Stripped down, these character dolls could actually pass for young ladies instead of surgically enhanced prostitutes. My only complaint at the moment is that I want to see more accessories for sale. It would be AWESOME to be able to buy additional dresses for each princess. In our house, the princesses all share and trade out clothes and shoes....but of course my daughter would love even more outfits. Not to mention, as with small children everywhere my Magga has an amazing ability to misplace things, so some of our princesses are living the nudist colony lifestyle at any given moment (well, the dolls all have undergarments molded to them, so not really).Specific to the Rapunzel doll, I love that her hair is longer and more silken than the other dolls we have. (Although it is not so long it gets overly tangled or in the way). We also scored a Maximus horse from the Easter Bunny--while she isn't specifically designed to ride on him, Mags has worked it out fine. And I adore the smattering of freckles on her cheeks, there is something really "real" about these Hasbro character dolls.

Love the Disney Princess Dolls
I love these dolls and couldn't beat the price on black Friday. My girls age 6 and 3 love them. I expected them to be cheap plastic but they weren't I was impressed with the quality. They are very durable. My only recommendation would be to keep the rubber band that holds the shoes on on for as long as you can because we have spent a significant amount of time searching for shoes!

A good doll for a decent price
I bought this doll and two other princesses of the same type for my six-year-old on her birthday. She loves them, and I love the price. Like most dolls this size, the shoes are frustrating because they are easily lost, but this is not a huge problem since they can go barefoot or have perma-shoes thanks to a dab or two of super glue. The dolls arms rotate the shoulders and legs at the hips. The plastic is a hard plastic that won't peel over time like the kind that are softer to the touch. The hair will tangle fairly quickly and is not easy to straighten out afterward, but this is pretty much expected with a doll in this price-range. Overall, this was a good buy.

Hasbro did a great job
Hasbro did a great job with these Disney dolls. I felt "wow" almost in the same way I felt when I first saw the Animator's dolls in persons. Of course, I was having the prices of the dolls in mind too. The paints on the doll faces are quite good. The head to body proportion is more like that of an young girl. I have bought the entire set.

pretty princess
We bought this for a little girl who wasn't going to have much at Christmastime. We want one, too! She is very pretty! My husband & I got Pocahontas for our 5-year old daughter & she is equally as beautiful as Mulan! Now we want all of the Royal Shimmer princesses!

Lovely doll, and cannot beat the price
My daughter was beyond thrilled to get this doll on Christmas, and I was thrilled about the price. Who needs to spend $18 on a princess doll when this is just perfect? Very happy mom and kid!
