This item is plastic, not lacquer as advertised. It is a very thin plastic, and the lid and compartments do not fit tightly together to keep them from spilling food. They would need a strap or band to hold them together in order to transport food safely. They also leak. The box is quite large, far too large for a single person to use for a bento lunch...perhaps a family. There are 3 compartments which stack, and a lid. The compartments are not divided. One or two compartments would be more than enough for a normal person to contain a full lunch. This means that if you buy a band to keep it together, you will need 3 different sized bands for when you leave one or two compartments at home. Overall, this item is very disappointing and I will be checking into returning it, as I have no use for such a giant, flimsy plastic box.
