ISTA+ compatible
Worked really well on my E92 with ISTA+ and Windows 11 after doing some settings. Driver installed automatic from Windows updates and managed to reset my DPF life. Hope this cable is a good quality one and will last.Thanks!

Perfect job
Girlfriend’s R56 Mini packed up a few weeks ago due to electric steering lock fault. She put in a new lock and still wasn’t starting so I looked into it and found out that it needed to be reset via the BMW diagnostic software. I downloaded the software and tried to use it with my VCDS cable but it wouldn’t communicate due to the differences in CAN lines, so I bought this.I had some initial troubles with getting the drivers to set up, though I think this was a problem with my laptop. After a few attempts, my Windows 7 laptop successfully located and installed the serial COM emulator driver. After setting to COM-1 and 1ms latency in Device Manager, tool32 could then successfully communicate with my girlfriend’s 2008 Mini One. I then ran the ELV reset procedure, heard some clunks and relay clicks, and the car fired up on the button first time! I paid €40 or so for the cable whereas BMW would charge hundreds for the simple reset.I can’t comment on the contents of the included disc because my laptop doesn’t have a disc drive and I had the bmw software installed already.

Worked on 2000 E39 (OBD II)
Worked fine with INPA after toggling the switch on the cable head. Have connected to all available modules and read/cleared many codes and monitored other live data.

Does what it says
Good quality cable, connector sits in OBD firmly and no play like some cheaper makes.Had a little trouble connecting from a surface but resolved by using an extension, I think the USB head on this is a little too snug and may not be making solid connection inside or something but no biggy as the extension allows me to be a bit more clumsy when moving around in the car getting set up.

Works great on my e36
Using INPA and a 20 pin adapter for the e36 and it works perfect. Takes awhile to get the drivers and specific settings perfect but would recommend

What have I bought?
I received the item in a reasonable period of time and was happy with the quality of the D-CAN plug. but the software that supports the issue requires a PC running windows 7. This was the era the software was developed. However, that being said, there is a crack file on the software that flags up as a serious malicious Trojan 32 virus. I am really unimpressed with this, considering the fault requires software to be ran on a pc, and that software threatens my system if ran. Even if this is not the case, I do not have a windows 7 pc. Nor do I want to buy one just to support this problem. Why is the item not sold with the new version of ISTA +? This has resulted in a totally pointless link cable, unless I purchase a new version of the software ,in addition to this CD coaster. I must also say, the software requires a degree in problem solving. The algorithm to install the software is complicated. There is a PDF document with the disk that looks very supportive, however, even with this, things are not that straight forwards either.

Worked Perfectly on my 2005 Z4 E85
Car was cranking but not starting and this did the trick alongside INPA when Re-syncing the Immobiliser to the ecu. Really pleased.
