Comparable but not IDENTICAL - Here's a Detailed Comparison to the Yeti
Like many people I was looking to purchase a 30 oz Yeti tumbler, however there is a massive shortage (and has been for months). This has had the effect of driving the price of a tumbler up to double what they used to cost (or more). It is a completely absurd amount for people to pay for a technology that my grandfather used to enjoy.Like you, I found the Polar Drifter version here and I ordered three of them. The price is still more than even the Yeti used to cost, so it is not reasonable - but it is a LOT less than the Yeti so I took a chance. Here is how they compare in detail.THE LID:As you will see from the photos attached, the lid is absolutely identical to the Yeti. The size, shape, and even the drinking slit and the air hole are all the same. Furthermore, they use the identical gasket around the edge for spill proofing. The lids are also, as you would expect, interchangeable. You can use either lid, on either tumbler. The one thing that appears a tad different is the color of the clear lid material. I don't know if this is because my Yeti lid is months old and has changed, or if there is actually a difference in the composition of the plastic used. My guess is the former, not the latter as I'm sure all of the plastics are safe in terms of toxicity. But neither has any markings other than the branding.THE TUMBLERS:The shape of the tumblers is absolutely identical. The material composition also appears to be identical, although my photo had uneven lighting so the Yeti appears darker. But trust me, they look the same side by side - as in they are indistinguishable. Even the brushed finish is identical on the two brands. There is a visible seam on the inside of the Polar unit which is not present in the Yeti. Considering that both of these are made of the same stainless steel, and both would be welded with the same filler material, there is no fear of the seam rusting or anything like that. A weld by definition takes two pieces of metal and turns them into one. The seam in this case must be air tight in order to keep the liquid inside the cup and that means its going to maintain the vacuum between the inner and outer walls.Speaking of walls, this is one major difference. I took calipers to the two units after noticing that one visually appeared to be a little thicker. And sure enough, the Yeti walls clock in about 15% thicker in my unscientific but best effort handheld measurements. My assumption is that this additional thickness accommodates additional space between the walls, but I do not know if a little more space would make a difference when there is an actual vacuum between the walls. The bottom line is, at this time I don't think its worth paying extra for the Yeti. Double the price for a little more vacuum space and no weld seam isn't a good value. However, the price of this unit doesn't actually make it a good deal either. Its just a good value as compared to the Yeti. You can easily find other vacuum containers for FAR less money - or just go find your grandpa's old coffee container that he used to take to work. It'll get the job done just fine...Hope that helped everyone else! If so, do me a favor and vote it up so I'll know. Cheers! - John P.

Works just as well as the others, for a lower price, best value
Great product at a cheaper price than some competitors. I am recommending it to everyone in the office who uses the more well known competitor that costs more. I mainly use it as a coffee cup to refill at my local dunkin donuts and it keeps my coffee hot/warm well into the afternoon. The previous cup I used would only get me by to about 2 hours before it was cold. This generally lasts for 4 hours hot, and then warm for the rest of the afternoon which is ideal for me as I prefer to drink my coffee at a temperature that doesn't burn my mouth. Cold drinks seem to hold well indefinitely more so than hot drinks and i think that has been proven by everyone who has rated this product so far. I added a tervis handle to this mug by using a method that you can find on youtube and it has worked out great. You can also buy a closing lid from another competitor which fits nicely and solves the problem of some splashes when you're moving around too much. I would strongly recommend this product over yeti.

OK, but.......
I pre ordered this, hoping to find something to give as gifts that worked as good as the Yeti (I've used Yeti's for quite a while and they work as advertised) but without the ridiculously high price you find here on Amazon. It seems to work well at holding the temp of drinks, but the lid is warped (I have 3 Yeti tumblers and the lids all fit perfectly). I was going to see if I could get them to replace the lid and call it a fluke, but when I saw that they have already raised the price to $32 I decided not to pursue it. You can go to the Yeti web site and get the real thing for $39, so why go with an imitation. They have already raised the price $8 in the 2 days since I've had mine, so it appears they will follow the trend of others trying to copy Yeti, and continue to raise the price as much as possible. Soon they will probably be over $40 and climbing. You can get the 30 oz tumbler on the Yeti web site for $39. Save yourself some hassle and just do that.

Just about perfect...
I absolutely love the cup. It keeps things hot or cold for hours which I love. I can fill it up with whatever I want to take with me for a day of running errands and know I will have either a warm or cold beverage. I was a bit disappointed that the lid was not more snug. Mine has been knocked out a couple times while carrying it and bumping the tab that is on it. I am going to order another lid for the cup. I have a 2nd one from another company and the lid from that cup fits this one more snugly so I have been using it. The lid is the only reason for 4 instead of 5 stars.

Very Nice
I have been looking for a nice, large travel mug. This isn't a mug, it is way better. It fits in the cup holder of my car, and keeps drinks at the temperature they're supposed to be. The first day I got it, I put ice cubes and water in it (5 pm) Went to bed at 9:45, it still has ice cubes. Woke up at 4:16, no more ice cubes, but still very cold. I'm pretty sure no one is going to keep a drink sitting around for eleven hours, so I'm pretty happy with how well it keeps things cold. When I filled it with coffee, it stayed very hot for over an hour without the lid. I read a lot of reviews that mentioned a seam inside. That was the first thing I looked for when I opened the box. No seam in mine. Maybe production has improved or maybe I got lucky. Either way, I'm very happy with the purchase.

Great customer service
I ordered two of these and really loved them. They did exactly what they should. Unfortunately the bottom stainless steel split opened as if it was under too much stress when they pressed it on to the rest of the cup. It is too bad because I was in love with these cups. There are no dent or scratches that could indicate it was dropped or anything.Edit: The company reached out to me and was as disappointed as I was that this happened and assured me it is not normal. They replaced the faulty cup quite quickly and I am back in love with his purchase.
