Alvear 10 Year Pedro Ximénez Vinegar - Sweet - 12.7 Ounces

I’ve tried many sherry vinegars over the years and this is the one I always come back to. It’s just wonderful, balanced, complex. When I don’t want to bother with making a vinaigrette, I just use a silky, peppery olive oil with this vinegar. Simple and elegant.

This is my favorite vinegar--Spanish, slightly sweet, well aged and not expensive. I'm into buttery Greek olive oil, French Dijon mustard, a little salt and pepper, and of course a smashed small clove of garlic shaken up with the right amount of this vinegar. Friends always smile whenever I toss a salad, a shrimp cocktail or even warm potatoes with it. Also broccolini but then add a bit of fine grated good quality (dry and sharp) Parmesan. The vinegar makes it all work.

If I could give it 10 stars, I would.I love this vinegar. Amazing flavor! Don't let the word "sweet" confuse you. It's a vinegar, not a vinegar reduction.

This product gives that subtle addition, especially to soups that make guests wonder what it is about the multi layers of flavors that it gives restaurant quality.

Ever since finding this vinegar years ago I find that I can't settle for anything less. It is smooth without the bitterness or saltiness of other sherry vinegars. Wonderful to cook with and vinaigrettes have the flavor without the bitterness or tanginess of lower quality vinegars. Highly recommend it.
