Great instructions!
First time pressed cane project and it turned out great! Instructions were clear and concise. The chair was 100 years old and getting the spline out was tedious but with patience anyone can do it. Great materials and the kit came with everything I needed

Easy to follow instructions
I was really apprehensive about doing this, but the instructions were so well written and illustrated- it really was no problem. It didn't take that long and I am thrilled with the results. I didn't have a wood chisel, but used a very sharp utility knife for the edges and it was fine. Thanks to this seller for great instructions

Breuer chair seats - repair or replace?
This is the ideal kit for repairing Breuer caned chairs - but does it make sense to repair them, when you can get replacement seats here on Amazon? Your decision will depend on a number of things, so I'd like to share why I chose to use this kit. I have a set of four chairs and after repairing the first with this kit, I decided to order three more kits instead of ordering replacement seats for the remaining chairs. It takes me between 1-2 hours to repair each seat, and I get a little quicker and better results with each one. The instructions that come with the kit, and the YouTube video, are excellent for the general methods of using this kit. If you're a typical DIYer I think you'll have no problems, and this is a satisfying job and the results are great. That said, if you have a decent workshop and tools, the job will go easier.A few things specific to my experience repairing Breuer chairs:- you'll need a 3/16" chisel, not found in your local big-box. So order one from Amazon, or what I did was to put a 1/4" chisel on a grinder until it was the right width.- so far every one of my Breuer seats has come apart (unglued) once I removed the old, damaged caning. So I had to glue each one back together as part of the assembly process. Since the back of the seat is curved, this can be tricky. I have this Festool work table: https://smile.amazon.com/Festool-500608-Basic-Multifunction-Table/dp/B00MMPAJSY/ref=sr_1_4 and with enough clamps I can get the four pieces of the seat back together. Without such a rig, it might be quite difficult to get the four pieces tight, flat & square if they come apart.- as you're digging out the old reed, small chunks of the curved corners at the rear of the seat will tend to chip off. So, more gluing.- use a high-quality pair of side cutters as shown in the video ... but you'll get zillions of little bits of scrap everywhere. Goggles & shop-vac recommended.- using the supplied wedges to seat the woven part of the seat works well. I found that to seat the thick reed that holds everything together, a rectangular wood block and a hammer worked better to force the reed down into the groove. Once it was jammed into the bead of glue in the groove, I didn't need the wedges or clamps to hold it in place while the glue dried.- You might think the supplied reed is too big for your Breuer chair - but notice the reed has a rectangular profile. Just orient it so that the skinnier dimension is in the width of the groove, and the wider dimension is then just right for the depth of the groove. This is the natural aspect of the reed as it's curled up in the kit, so it will be obvious.- you'll get a good tension on the woven part of the seat following the included instructions. Just use the wedges to push from the inside to the outside as you work your way around the groove.- Note that when you push a bit of the weave into the groove, it will tend to twist the entire piece; so just keep lining it up as you go by stretching it to keep it in line along the straight parts of the seat, tapping the wedge to jam it into the groove. It will conform nicely to the rounded parts at the rear of the seat if you do the straight front & sides first. So - should you use this kit or buy a replacement seat? If you're prepared for the contingencies that I encountered, then I think you'll enjoy using this kit to repair Breuer chairs. If you have limited workshop resources, you might find the replacements more straightforward, if you don't mind the additional expense. One final note, if you have multiple chairs to repair, order all the kits you want at once to save on shipping costs.

Great product
This is a great product as it is easy to work with as long as you do what the instructions tell you but I have worked with this kind of work before. I did this for customer and he was very happy with the results that if the other chairs need to be repaired he will bring them to my upholstery shop to have them repaired. With that being said yes I would definitely recommend this product and buying from this company as I will be buying all my products from them when I need it. Thank you so very much Ray at Higgins Enterprises Monroeville

Great instructions.
This was a gift for out-of-state relatives. They had no experience with caning. They loved it! They told me how great the instructions were and how easy they were to follow. Everything they needed (other than tools) was included. Awesome!
