Good features but I like the HurryCane better
This Palo Medical Apallo self-standing cane has several useful features, including sit-to-stand handles, but is the cane I use least often. I own 4 canes, and I've had some experience with them over the years for various injuries, most recently a broken leg. The HurryCane is the cane I always select when I am going out, to doctor's appointments, etc. as my favorite, all-purpose cane because it is comfortable to grip, lightweight, pivots to make walking more natural, and will stand on its own (with careful placement on select flooring). For comparison, I have shown a picture of each cane from the front, as well as an overhead view so you can better see the base of each cane. Here is a detailed comparison:This Palo Medical Apallo Self-standing cane (pictured second from the left): this mini-quad cane offers more stability than the HurryCane, which has a smaller tripod base (but the Palo Apallo cane is not as stable as a quad cane). It will stand on some flat carpets and rough floors like travertine, where the HurryCane often will not. It is also about twice as heavy as the HurryCane. If you need a sit-to stand feature, this cane has one in a compact design. Because of prior shoulder injuries, I do not use it to stand, but if your shoulders can tolerate the weight-bearing of getting up with this, it is a handy feature. I am 5'2" and with the cane length set to the smallest size, except for 1, the handle stands at 30" tall and fits me well. There is room for it to expand an additional 10", so this will lengthen to accommodate most taller individuals, and also someone just 1" or so shorter than I am. This cane also has a small light, which is intended to aid walking in the dark, in one of the handles. In addition, there is a small area for storage in the handle, with enough room for a key, emergency money, or a few emergency pills. Overall, unless you need an added feature like the more stable base, light, storage, or sit-to-stand assistance, I recommend that you spend your money on the HurryCane. The HurryCane is lightweight and comfortable, offering good support. Its contoured handle is the most comfortable of the 4 canes. It fits my height comfortably, in the lowest setting, and it can be extended ~7" more to accommodate taller individuals. It comes in more interesting colors, like blue, as compared to this Palo Medical Apallo cane. The pivoting action of the HurryCane allows for more natural walking than the Palo Medical Apallo cane. My husband calls the HurryCane my "Ninja cane," because of the way it folds and unfolds, so it has added a little humor to life as well. Also, the HurryCane comes with a cover to stow away (eg, in your purse) while traveling, plus it is made in the USA. The HurryCane was purchased on Amazon for ~$40.Basic cane (shown on left in picture): this was issued by the hospital a few years ago as I was getting out of a wheelchair after pelvic fractures. The candy-cane style hand is moderately comfortable, but not as comfortable as that of the Palo Medical Apallo cane. It is about half the weight of the Palo Medical Apallo cane. This cane does not offer as much support as the Palo Medical Apallo cane because it has a small base.Quad cane (shown on right): this offers superior stability and I use this when in the yard. Unlike the Palo Medical Apallo cane, the quad cane will stand alone on gravel and in the grass, although it occasionally falls over if I place it on an incline. This offers more support than the Palo Medical Apallo cane, and feels just a bit heavier. The sit-to-stand option is a helpful feature if you need assistance standing. This HealthSmart sit-to-stand quad cane was also purchased on Amazon for $35.

Great and Recommended! MUCH Better Than My HurryCane, and an Update
Update:This is my favorite cane, of 5. All is well now the Allen wrench is included.Original:Very nice to help me up and it comes with a 4 foot (not 4,' but with a rubber quad (4) stand)) pad to help it stand up nicely by itself (I hate dropping my canes without it and picking them up, or having someone else, which seems to happen to all of the other canes I have). No instructions on adjusting were included (with the first cane as it was torn off of the folding circle card, perhaps in storage, as the cane was unused). It looks like it needs an Allen Wrench (see update). It took a while to figure it all out on my own. Nice cane and most used out of my 5 canes (used to go to the bathroom at night and it works great). I am sure it is not good for snow or ice, but it helps one get up from a fall. I use one with spikes for ice/snow. Good weight, Most canes brag about the lightness but canes work best with some weight on the tip end. This is just right. I like the 4 feet better than the 3 of my HurryCane as the 4 stands better by itself and very well even on carpet.Well balanced. Recommended. I also recommend getting a quad, four footed rubber tip, such as, Carex or Secure, for each cane you own.UPDATE: Amazon rushed out another as this had too much play and went ''thunk' as I walked. I could not adjust it with the plastic twist-knob. I like this cane a lot but this still has a small 'thunk' I did get rid of it.(looseness of the lower part). The instructions were included with this one and I find an Allen wrench in the lower handle to adjust it. I moved the lower handle ring to the metal protrusion-catch, it stopped the rattle. Storage space is a 'seller' but a joke to me. Do not get this for the storage space. I like this cane a lot.. The 3-LED light is great but it would be nice if it was position-adjustable. I rdered some (6) snap-on bike headlights that will be added to each cane. I added a bike headlight to all of my canes...

THE BASE LASTED LESS THAN ONE WEEK
I got this cane on Easter Sunday (Thanks, Prime !) I like the stability of this cane, it seems very strong and stable. BUT- after less than one week, the rubber base cracked and broke. I weigh 150 lbs, and admittedly, put all of my weight on this cane due to my disability. The material that the base is made out of is not sufficient for everyday use.I mean really-five days? A replacement base is nearly the same price as the entire cane. I'm going to attempt to contact the manufacturer to see if there's any warranty on what I feel is an inferior product. The body of the cane seems fine- it's the base that I'm concerned with. Photo attached.

Best buy
I bought this for my 300lb father who just had back surgery in October. He has a walker and tons of canes. I already had this in my cart and was iffy about getting it since he already had all the above. So one day during the Xmas holidays me and my dad saw this commercial and he mentioned he would like to try it. So I secretly bought it for him and three days later he was very happy to have it. It's now middle January and my mom mentioned how much this has helped him. That it was the best thing I could have bought him. Before he was walking slightly bent over with all the other help aids. Now he is able to easily get up and walks straighter. I highly recommend this product.

Great idea but might not work for you.
Great product idea. Battery happened not to work on receipt. Amazon refunded for that, but after trying found I could not use it because at 6' 5", 405 lbs., arms not strong enough to enable me to push up on lower handle (I am disabled. Part mobility issues). The mechanics get involved. Butt has to be higher and even pushing forward doesnt always mean it is at right height to get angle to roll forward and lift while pulling/pushing on handle. Tried at varied heights (of handles). Cap on lower handle did not always stay closed. Tried numerous times and on last PUSH, hurt myself. Not for everyone. Wouldnt always stand up, but minor point. Ideas like this are desperately needed. Wish it had worked. Would have helped getting up and off bed edge and commode. Forget couch.
