Amazing buy, amazing quality.
Long-Term Review of the KCG Razor(Edit: it's been roughly 6 months? Now and my opinions haven't changed, something I added to my routine is cleaning the razor with isopropyl alcohol or nail Polish for about 5 mins before shaving, it stopped me from getting razor bumps and white heads.)The blades I received were surprisingly good, even though they're from China. I believe I either lucked out with a good batch or the quality control has improved significantly. In the past, when using my old razors, I used to experience razor bumps and ingrown hairs. However, with the KCG razor, I've only encountered 1 or 2, which disappear within about 2 days. This is a significant improvement for my sensitive skin. The weight of the blade is exceptional; it's neither too heavy nor too light. It's the perfect weight for a comfortable shave. It provides just enough pressure due to its own weight, making shaving easy, but it's not so heavy that it becomes cumbersome. As a beginner using a blade for shaving, I've only cut myself once in the ten times I've shaved so far, and that was in a single spot. This is a remarkable improvement compared to the frequent cuts I used to get with low-quality disposable razors.I'm currently on my 10th shave with the same blade (having used it 8 times on one side), and I feel like I can still get more uses out of it.Considering that I only paid £10 (got it on sale) and how well it has performed so far, I believe this razor could last me a lifetime with moderate care. I store it away from the sink, and it remains clean, shiny, smooth, and meets all my shaving needs.

Smooth - Update: What is going on here . . . . . .
I already own 4 other shavers of various brands with different ways of loading a blade - butterfly - 2 part and 3 part heads. When this arrived I immediately liked the handle - BUT - the head - Surely this was an Edwin Jagger DE89 head.Hmmmm - so I weighed it - This head is several gram heavier although the head profile and angles look exactly the same as the EJ DE89. Side by side they look identical for both the top plate and the base plate. Now - this may be an issue - especially when you consider the reliability issues of the DE89 where after a bit of use the threads on the top plate strip making the razor a nicely polished ornament but effectively useless. In use the razor shaved nicely and I liked the weight of it. Heavy enough to imply quality but light enough to use easily.I also liked the 2 pass shave it gave and saw no need to undertake a 3rd pass. There were no cuts, no afterburn, no irritation - it was really nice and did glide smoothly over my face. I would note that I could hear the cutting action more with this head than some of my other razors but I would say this is VERY similar in use to a Jagen David B40 or EJ DE89 to the point of being impossoble to tell. This is a good mild razor that performs well. Two of my other handles will fit the top and base plate of this razor (I did this out of curiosity only) and the packaging states the item is made in China - like so many other razors including the DE89 - which by the way is the same head as a certain "German" razor with an astonishingly similar model number. The handle on this particular unit looks great and I like it a lot although thats not enough to make a good razor. Its good shave was enough for me to put the other razors to bed and keep this one on my razor stand. In the event there is a reliability issue with tread stripping - I will update this review accordingly. For the price I don't think you can go wrong. Even if the unit fails in some dramatic fashion after 3 months then its still cheaper to re-buy for another 3 months use than go to the local store to buy the underwhelmingly performing plastic tat that now occupies so much space in landfill and leaves your face feeling like its been sand blasted with coarse grit.UPDATE: Having used this razor for a few days I can say its really rather good. However, yesterday I decided to undertake a 3 pass shave to see how close it would really go. Time of shave 08:35hrs. The rest of my day passed as usual and eventually I headed off for a shower at 21:00hrs. On stepping out of the shower I passed my hand over my face and was stunned to feel it not too dissimilar to when I had my shave earlier in the day. I needed a second opinion and my Wife asked I had shaved in the shower. WOW this is quite a razor. Suitably impressed.

A Gentleman's First Choice: Perfect Razor for Beginners!
I recently had the privilege of trying out the King C Gillette razor, and I must say, I'm thoroughly impressed. As a grooming enthusiast, I've dabbled in various razors, but this one has genuinely won me over, particularly for those just starting their wet shaving journey. The first thing that struck me was the mildness of the King C Gillette razor. For beginners, the fear of nicks and cuts can often be a stumbling block, but this razor's design seems almost tailored to mitigate that concern. The blade's exposure is just right, offering a close shave without the excessive aggression that can lead to mishaps. It's like a gentle guide that ensures a smooth experience without the anxiety of accidental injuries.Ease of use is where the King C Gillette razor truly shines. The intuitive design means that even if you're new to wet shaving, you'll find yourself wielding it with confidence in no time. The weight is perfectly balanced, allowing for precise control and manoeuvrability. And speaking of control, the handle design, while commendable in terms of aesthetics, might be a bit of an issue for some users. Here's where the razor does have a small drawback. The handle, though visually appealing with its classic design, might pose a challenge for individuals with conditions like arthritis or difficulties gripping hard objects. The heavy handle lacks the texturing or knurling that some might need for a secure grip, making it slightly slippery when wet. However, this is a minor concern that can be managed with some creativity, like using a silicone grip or holding it closer to the head.In terms of overall performance, the King C Gillette razor leaves nothing to be desired. It offers a consistently smooth shave, whether you're maintaining a beard, shaving closely, or just tidying up around the edges. It's versatile, forgiving, and reliable – qualities that make it an excellent choice for beginners who are looking to master the art of wet shaving.TL:DR; the King C Gillette razor is an exceptional grooming tool for those embarking on their shaving journey. Its mildness, ease of use, and beginner-friendly qualities make it a standout option. Just keep in mind that if you struggle with gripping or have conditions like arthritis, you might need to adapt your technique to ensure a secure hold on the somewhat weighty handle. But that's a small price to pay for the impeccable shaving experience this razor provides. Highly recommended!
